I was bought this as a Xmas present and was a bit dubious as I have found this type of thing can be a bit disappointing - but not this one! I was in a bar and, for no particular reason, I complained about gin not being as good as it used to be. The final part is the aftertaste, which has enough lingering on the mouthfeel and it dissipates at a perfect rate. However, Chris Jensen is celebrating the more decadent side of this historic spirit, by recreating a traditional London Gin at his distillery in the heart of Bermondsey.

Further investigation led Christian to discover that Old Tom gins were rarely sweetened at the distillery but rather drinking establishments would often 'stretch' the gin further by adding water, sugar and extra spices to beef up barrels of gin. Jensen's Bermondsey Gin is a London dry gin that is made using traditional gin botanicals along with a solid core of juniper. Bursting with juniper flavour, with a luscious texture and aromatic bite, Jensen’s is a taste of what London Dry used to be.An interesting evening hosted in a small craft gin distillery - informative, relaxed , atmospheric and convivial with some nice drinks supplied - we had a great evening and I would recommend this.
