If I had to be picky and find a fault, I would say that if you try to cut thicker grass, it can get caught in between the spool and the guard, meaning you have to unpick it and pull it out. Even if you have one of the best lawnmowers, this is still useful to get at those edges or those awkwardly shaped areas where a lawnmower cannot access. The battery charge is more than adequate for me, as by the time the charge runs out I've had about enough anyway and it's time for a break and a cup of tea.
On that basis, I figured I'm probably good for a couple of years yet and therefore I'd probably get away with only requiring ONE replacement spool as my nylon usage rate has been pretty low (see earlier updates). The grass trimmer's 38mm cutting width and 8500 RPM rotational speed make quick work of grass trimming tasks. The gears are made from composite material and the additional pressure applied when cutting coarse grass could make them wear out quickly and so, whilst we have not experienced that problem yet, I tend to agree with them that this item could wear quickly.You still need eye protection, and possibly a full faceguard, but of course it's quieter so you don't need ear defenders.
