Unfortunately the pump which was supplied with it was either faulty or not the correct one for the item. But there is an awful lot to plan and consider when you’re heading off with young explorers, especially compared with a couples or solo camping trip. The Eurohike Genus 800 Air Tent is an 8 person tent that offers incredible value and makes family camping a breeze.

It is lightweight because it is thin – 68D (Denier) – while most (traditional and inflatable) tents have a minimum of 70D or 75D, or up to even thicker, 150D flysheet (Kampa, for example). Others would say that these are only smaller issues that are easy to live with, or not issues at all.Considering the size of the Genus 800 and that you have 4 air beams to fill up with air, it is pretty good. Fully waterproof with a high hydrostatic head rating (twice the minimum UK waterproofing standard), the Genus 800 also comes with a detachable groundsheet, which is very handy when you need to give your tent a clean. However, it should be noted that using a footprint does help protect the underside of a tent from abrasion and moisture, extending its lifespan and keeps it drier on the inside. Pitched and dismantled in just a few effortless minutes, the Airgo Genus 800 makes comfy camping easy for larger groups.

The Eurohike Genus 800 Air is a tunnel tent which has two large bedrooms on either side of a spacious living area. Apart from that we have found it very suitable for my disabled daughter and her 2 girls as she can get inside easily . I should also add, that there’s very little information on the fabric and flysheet used by the Eurohike Genus 800. While the Air Genus 800 is not available through GoOutdoors any more, the new Eurohike Genus 800 is available GoOutdoors.I would recommend the Air Genus 800 for families or groups of up to 8 members for weekends away and to a lesser extent, longer breaks. This is presumably just an air tent thing rather than an issue with this tent in particular, as its hard to get all the air out of the poles. You will see from the photos that the bedroom comfortably takes a double sleeping mat with plenty of extra space.
