When we arrived we were given a room right by reception which meant it was fairly loud due to other guests coming in late and wanting a chat before. I wanted water late one night as I wasn't feeling well, and a rude staff member told me I could pay for a water bottle.

Along the fjord the bonfires lit up the summer evening and Arvid stood by the railing gazing towards land, pretending they were stars. Along with visiting multiple resorts, there are many day trips including visiting the Sea of Japan and eating fresh crab and sushi in Itoigawa, Matsumoto Castle, Snow Monkeys, and amazing historical cities like Kanazawa. The perfect peaceful escapce from the over developed and bustling, even manicareas of Kuta and Seminyak, which although only a short twenty five minutes drive away, seem to be a whole world away. It also served to highlight well the internal tensions arising from the country's position of neutrality.
