It is a single-estate vodka, meaning that the base ingredients used for the vodka are produced on site (including the apples used for Naked Chase Apple Vodka).Over the past 25 years, Master of Wine, Richard Kelley has become one of the most respected authorities on South African wine in the UK and beyond. Combining the same classic ingredients for nearly 200 years, Angostura bitters are a key ingredient in many famous cocktails, often paired with gin and rum to great effect. We believe in a truly sustainable approach to farming and creating spirits, which is why we let nothing go to waste. This is then chill filtered to carefully remove any other impurities for an exceptionally clean sip with a creamy mouthfeel and mildly sweet flavour.
The production process involves peeling, heating and mashing the potatoes before adding yeast for fermentation. The spirit is then diluted with pure water that is taken from the aquifer underneath the orchard to around 50% ABV.
Next the potatoes are transferred to a traditional copper pot still where steam is used to raise the temperature and encourage distillation. Chase Vodka is made with only two ingredients: potatoes from their farm and water from their bore hole, making it the only true Single-Estate spirit in the UK. Missing Wine or cases damaged in transit must be reported to us within 3 days of receipt of advice of dispatch. Throughout this fruitful period, he established a healthy rapport with the great and the good of the local wine scene, affording him access to their distinguished cellars.
Other potato vodka products from the Chase Distillery are flavoured with elderflower (Chase Elderflower Liqueur), fresh fruit (Chase Fresh Fruit Liqueurs), Seville orange (Chase Marmalade Vodka), smoked oak (Chase English Oak Smoked Vodka) and rhubarb (Chase Rhubarb Vodka). Vapours rise up through the 70 ft tall rectification column, resulting in a vodka that has effectively been distilled 119 times.Created using traditional artisan methods that a distiller of over 100 years ago would recognise in bespoke copper batch pot stills and unique 70 foot rectification column (the tallest in Europe). Their vodka is distilled five times and their gin, which has been described as the most complicated gin in the world, over 100 times! It’s a 10 year ageing process which ensures Gran Centenario Plata is a silver tequila with depth and standout characteristics which make it memorable. The distillery is housed in a converted hop kiln barn amongst 400 acres of rolling fields of potatoes, apple orchards and Herefordshire cattle. The Herefordshire made Chase Vodka was one of the first in the new wave of craft distilleries to place provenance and process back at the heart of its vodka.
Ingredients are individually selected for their quality and only the highest quality herbs made it into the final recipe. Deliveries are usually with you 24/48 hours after the goods leave us, but recently have been taking slightly longer. Using a pretty, bespoke copper batch pot and unique 70 foot rectification column (the tallest in Europe), the result is a really pure vodka that is beautifully smooth with a naturally sweet and creamy taste.Bright and fruity from first opening, Hennessy also has undertones of oak and once in the mouth flavours of nutty grilled almonds and a hint of fresh grapes are released.
