About this deal

Being an autodidact didn't work out so well for me when it came to actually understanding electrical engineering. And if that's not enough control under your hands and feet, you can also connect external Expression pedals and footswitches (sold separately). Bear in mind that this model came out about about 5 years ago, but it's still very good - some might seek more recent technology although I can't imagine many functions that could be added.

AUX Input is also a standout feature that will let players record other external stereo audio sources and use them for their loop performances. An XLR input is also provided, complete with phantom power, so singers, percussionists, violinists, beatboxers, or anyone with a mic'd instrument can get in on the act, too. In theory, it is possible to connect even more controllers to the Loop Station, since a full MIDI trio (In, Out, Thru) is available. In most situations, I use the Undo button to eliminate a layered solo and go back to the regular version of that phrase. This is in addition to its ability to service your other inputs (not just guitar, but also your mic or any other instrument, albeit this is an all-or-nothing at a time proposition).Wide range of options, everything is programmable to your liking and it's just nice to get a 3 in 1 loop pedal. For acoustic guitars we will check the functions of the EQ system and controls as weel as check the internal cabling and jack socket. Plus, with 16 different built in effects, you can manipulate your looped sounds to further enhance your creativity when using the RC-300.

However, the beat-synced effects are usable, sound good, and overlap the issues I've had syncing the RC-50 to the Adrenalinn 3 for the delay effect. After pulling some components, cleaning up the obvious corrosion, replaced the LEDs with some green ones on hand, and popping the cleaned up IC back in place; I moved on to cleaning the mild non-IPA residue from the rest of the boards with IPA.Since the three Stop buttons operate as Clears if you hold them down, that's 3 of the functions I'd planned to farm out to external pedals taken care of right there. The Boss RC-300 Loop Station offers a range of sensational features - all tailored for the professional musician. With up to 3 hours worth of recording, it has more space than I've ever needed, in fact, I have a saved lots of loops and presets over the years, and I have yet to worry about low memory space. Each can be independently controlled, and you can stack the loops for a bigger, more all-encompassing sound.

But the long and the short of it is that while the RC-50 maxed out at 4 assignable control buttons, the RC-300 has 8, provided you use a Midi pedal that sends CC messages. If you want to learn more about the successor of the RC-300, take a look at our review of the Boss RC-600. In some ways I prefer it to the new Boss RC600 (eg I use the RC300's expression pedal as a wah pedal - there's no expression pedal in the RC600).Boss even made it possible to rename presets by selecting the letters through the unit's main rotary knob. There are also plenty of loop related settings that include different play modes, stop modes, loop sync and many more.
