About this deal

Overall a very good quality service from this seller and I would not hesitate to recommend this seller.

But, perhaps because this fantasy never coalesces around a human figure, it is less accessible and less resonant than his tales that center on a child protagonist. I’m unclear whether this is the first in a series or not – it feels like it could be, but at the same time it also feels as though everything in it is wrapped up pleasingly.Perhaps it was this decor which awakened his creativity and gave it the dreamlike, imaginative quality so often found in his work. I highly recommend this book for teachers or really anyone that wants to share a beautiful story with their children! It’s perhaps more Scooby Doo than Agatha Christie, but that’s what makes it really rather wonderful.

Therefore, a reader definitely needs to be able to use their imagination to picture this story happening, or else the story wouldn’t exist. This entry was posted on May 12, 2013, in Language Arts Lessons, Lesson Ideas and tagged creative language arts lessons, creative lessons for Tuesday, creative lessons on mood and tone, creative writing lessons, David Weisner, Tuesday. The illustrations are beautiful though and the story is so bizarre it can really spark some imaginative ideas within children. Text isn’t a direct contributor the story; there’s a grand total of six words in the whole story and are used to describe the time and date.

Fits nicely with life cycle topics – most Nursery and Reception classes will have frog spawn and tadpoles at some point, so this picture book is brilliant. The low pressure nature of a picture book allows children of all abilities to join in and feel successful. Wiesner subsequently won the Caldecott Medal in 2002 for The Three Pigs, and the 2007 medal for Flotsam. In the two-page spread, we see that the television’s side lies on the right vertical golden section. On Tuesday evening, amazed frogs take to the sky on a humorous adventure from swamp through a small town, discovering laundry, televisions, and dogs.It is, as the title says, Tuesday, Tuesday evening to be precise and the frogs are getting just a little restive as the light fades. Tuesday” is a Caldecott Award winning book from the creative mind of David Wiesner and is about how some seemingly ordinary frogs from a pond go on a magical adventure throughout the city. The final pages of the book show "next Tuesday" around eight in the evening, with pigs hovering above the roof of a farm building. It won the Caldecott award for children’s illustrated books in 1992 from the American Library Association. It is a great resource to encourage joint interest, vocabulary, sequenced language, making inferences and engaging in discussion.

Its almost word-free format (except for occasional notations of the time) means it can serve as inspiration for storytelling at all ages. David Wiesner’s story of a magic along with his beautiful illustrations makes “Tuesday” a mesmerizing book for children. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. If you are citizen of an European Union member nation, you may not use this service unless you are at least 16 years old.Recommended for fans of whimsical, esotheric wordless picture books, both young and old, and considering that I am really not all that much a fan of the former, my praise and my sweet enjoyment of Tuesday does indeed say quite a lot (as those of you who know me, are probably more than well aware of the fact that I generally much more appreciate and enjoy reading written narratives and that wordless picture books often leave me profoundly unsatisfied, something that has and fortunately not been at all the case for me with David Wiesner's Tuesday). And as for the man who was having a bedtime snack in the kitchen - he couldn't quite believe his eyes. These frogs are important because they are the ones traveling throughout the city, creating an adventure for the reader to witness. First printing of Wiesner's first book to win the Caldecott Medal, featuring virtually no words but many hovering frogs. Tuesday by David Wiesner takes place on (you guessed it) a Tuesday; to be more exact, on a Tuesday evening around eight.
