About this deal

All and all, I think that was an interesting plot point, given that most fantasy books I read the world is hidden from us regular people. But first the corpse of a well-known local junkie is found blocking the drain of a Denton public lavatory – and then, when Frost attempts to join the revels later on, the nubile daughter of a wealthy businessman is reported missing. His style is more on the darker, edgier side, yet maintaining a whimsical tone, akin to authors like Roald Dahl and JK Rowling, where the reader isn't supposed to feel safe. I actually found myself liking it, and this one was a stand-alone, which meant that it had a much shorter opportunity to make an impression on me, unlike series that, on average, have three.

So our heroine had to be one from the human world where she was the fae abandoned who didn’t know her parents and couldn’t care less about fae or their king or any kinda magic because she didn’t have any. In uncertain charge of the investigations is Detective Inspector Jack Frost, crumpled, slapdash and foul-mouthed as ever. The book had intense chemistry between the main characters, though individually, they were quite bland. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

Ava, la fae élevée parmi les humains, lui semble alors la seule capable d’endosser ce rôle sans risquer que les sentiments s’en mêlent. Built like a canoe pack but shrunk way down, The Book Packs offer heritage, utility, and function reduced to a miniature size. Torion is a fae fuckboy, and he knows he's handsome, but I was rooting for him nonetheless because he's broken and I can fix him, okay? She’s this sweet, slightly naive girl who has a heart of gold, and it’s a sort of breath of fresh air from the classic “badass heroine” that most books these days are adopting.

Imagine a world where society has fallen, humans eating other humans, and robots are superior to people. Flynn and Barrow vow to go into the city and rescue them, while Frost makes it her dying mission to get her beloved pet to the "Battery". I did really enjoy the descriptions, and the world-building was nice though not particularly groundbreaking.Didn’t think I was going to like this one, but I’m glad I decided to read it and see what it was truly about. Of course, I found myself most interested when it came to the topic of the robots, especially considering the situation with Frost's father. The convos between Ava and Shalini are hilarious and I can't help but be happy for Ava for having such a great best friend.
