Having read both series in childhood, His Dark Materials evoked a similar sense of awe in me as Harry Potter, and that’s what I remember now. In this post, I’ve shared some of the best books about wizarding schools, friendship, growing up, and more. This urban fantasy series is on fire hot, with lots of steam, bullying romance, and deadly situations. The detailed storytelling in books can transport you into the world of the story in a way that movies or TV series often can’t quite match.

This is such an original book that is a fairy tale (think original Grimm’s tales as opposed to Disney) that meets the modern day. However, I always struggled to find other good fiction books that would keep me invested in the story. In conclusion, my journey through the Harry Potter series was immensely enjoyable, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone, even if you’ve already watched the movies.
