I'm planning a mums and kids only break for the summer, and neither the tiny pop up or the massive air tent are suitable for a weekend away with DS (17) and DD (10).

A 4 man tent is even perfect for two if you’re looking for a more luxurious-feeling outdoor experience. It can be used as a second room in great weather, however it’s not covered and thus not waterproof, which is why we don’t recommend it if you’re camping in rainy weather. The double-skin tent has a new and improved design with tougher zippers on the entrance doors and exclusive Dark Zone Bedrooms which substantially block out sunlight to enjoy a longer, more relaxing sleep.

Spacious Bedrooms The Hartland contains two double bedrooms which are large enough to accommodate a double airbed. It was left for over a year and iv just recently got back from another camp trip in Bodmin where we had awful drizzle for 2 days and during the night quite heavy relentless rain! The Hartland features four flexible fibreglass poles which are colour-coded to easily identify which sleeves they slide into when pitching. The porch area has a removable groundsheet, which is great for cleaning, but attaching it to the tent when you set it up adds to the overall setup time. Conversely, a bathtub groundsheet is a loose groundsheet which has toggles for easy fitting and raised sides to reduce draughts.Second trip it rained for a good 12 hours solid but wasn't torrential and it kept all rain out other than just by the door. I think, under the circumstances, it's entirely reasonable for me to indulge in my all time favourite pastime of tent purchasing. You can fit a double bed in the bedrooms and the living bit gives you space to breath so your not under each others feet! Rain did get in to the central room under the door but took a good 12 hour battering before I started to get in round the windows.
