About this deal

Nemasys® No Ants is safe to use on turf or soil without any of the precautions associated with chemical use. Our expert lawn care technicians are trained to properly handle and use nematodes to ensure your lawn receives the best possible treatment. Ants also often live and work together with aphids, they protect the aphids against natural enemies (such as ladybirds and lacewings) and even move the aphids to new fresh crops or better places! Add approximately 5 litres (2 gallons) of water into watering can and stir the mixture to ensure the nematodes are well mixed.

PLEASE NOTE: Turf, Wildflower Turf, Sedum Mats and bulk Bag products are delivered on a pallet and can only be delivered to the kerbside. S. carpocapsae tends to be most effective when applied against highly mobile surface-adapted insects. Drenching a nest with MightyNem No Ants introduces a high number of nematodes to a nest forcing the ants to move. Please note that the soil temperature should be 5ºC (40ºF) or over, however, Nematodes are capable of surviving the odd frost. We’re used to them, and we normally think about removing them from the house and keeping them outside where they belong. The 103 third parties who use cookies on this service do so for their purposes of displaying and measuring personalized ads, generating audience insights, and developing and improving products. Though there are a few homemade treatments you can try, such as pouring boiling water or a combination of dishwasher liquid and olive water onto hills or areas of the lawn – these are temperamental at best and can be outright damaging at worst. This species is a classic sit-and-wait or "ambush" forager, standing on its tail in an upright position near the soil surface and attaching to passing hosts. The ants do not tolerate the nematodes (Steinernema feltiae) near their nests and move their nests away from treated areas.

So enjoy your lawn and garden, secure in the knowledge that what you’ve used to get rid of pesky ants poses absolutely no threat to humans, pets, plants or the environment. Nematodes can be applied between late spring and early autumn, or when the ground temperature is above 10°C. Besides ants, this species can treat other pests such as flea beetles, houseflies, sawflies and fungus gnats. It may be necessary to make a slit in the ant's nest with a spade or trowel prior to application to ensure all nematodes reach the nest. My thoughts: the lawn colony might have been especially susceptible to the nematodes, since it seemed already to be on the decline, while the patio colony, being young, might have been more vigorous and resistant.g. where ant hills are visible) and continue to apply to areas where you want to repel further ant nests from being established.
