Each of the Melody tracks (x3) has 16 Patterns of up to 64 steps each, and the Drum track (x1) has 16 Sub-tracks also with up to 64 steps each, that can be played, chained and edited in a variety of ways. All three mod channels output negative voltage below 64, 0 voltage at 64, and positive voltage above 64.

This may become slightly bothersome as fall rolls into winter and I want to keep the windows open for as much sun+heat as possible (I’m told Chicago’s winters aren’t quite as warm as SF’s), but should be tolerable. The Force was a great sequencer, but it have way more stuff in it like sampling/effects/mixing/clips and I didn't want all that and felt that it was convoluted if you don't need that.I guess I should ask over in the Landscape Noon thread, but at their site they said that while a Beatstep Pro (which I have) works well, they can't recommend the SQ-64 because it has "low power, can activate some voices but not all". Updates - Five discontinued synthesizer products, Editor / Plug-In Editor for macOS are now available! Melody tracks and patterns can be edited in several modes (GATE, PITCH and MODULATION) so you can alter the information sent by your sequencer on each of these steps in many interesting ways. The DRUM track outputs can be fine-tuned to match the polarity and voltage of your connected device(s).

Each mode comes with a slightly different set of four possible parameters displayed on the screen and accessed with the knobs.The dealer has been great, but Korg haven’t really taken their share of the burden on this one, still a fanboy, but it’s no Elektron experience just yet. i've always lurved Korg stuff, spent my early 20's butts deep in an Electribe, was my only hardware. At least the indicator lights along the top edge sit directly above each socket, making the cabling that bit easier to achieve.

MusicRadar verdict: An intuitive and very musical bit of gear and one that should stand the test of time. Each step has graduated lighting; the higher the modulation value, the stronger the button lights up to give you a clear visual on what’s going on in the sequence. You can, of course, leave it as a straight linear transition but you can switch this to log or exponential, with a twist of a knob.
