We’ve evolved the packaging to highlight the quality of the whisky inside the bottle, and make it more approachable to consumers worldwide. Originally released as part of Glenlivet's Travel Retail market offering, the Triple Cask Matured Distiller's Reserve expression brings together whisky matured in three different types of cask - traditional casks, American white oak casks and ex-sherry casks. Replacing our Master Distiller’s Reserve, the Distiller’s Reserve is the cornerstone of the range and exemplifies the skills our makers have mastered through decades of experience. To craft this exceptional liquid, three types of casks – ex-sherry, American Oak and Traditional Oak – are brought together to create a deep, velvety taste with subtle, creamy coconut and vanilla notes.

It is created with the balanced influence of the three types of casks to give it a harmonious balance of fruity notes and smoothness.

With a wonderful balance of fruity and smooth tasting notes, this is a truly fine expression with a strength of 40% ABV. I will be drinking sparingly, and only having a sip once or twice a week, as when it's gone it's gone. Each of the triple cask expressions demonstrate how a careful interplay of whiskies matured in three different types of cask can add depth and complexity to the original floral, fruity charachter of The Glenlivet single malt.

This is same stuff as Glenlivet's Master Distiller’s Reserve, but in a new box and with sligthly different name.
