In essence, it’s a stripped back version of FIFA 20 and indicative of its approach to the series on the Switch. I know FIFA 20 for the Switch has an abysmal rating on Metacritic, both from the press and the users. To clarify, Legacy Edition is the cursed subtitle EA’s been adding to ‘dead’ updates of its games ever since FIFA 14. DQXI and Ori both released on the same day as this and both have added more content for the Switch version, than this "sequel" did to FIFA 19. There’s honestly no genuine reason I could give you to purchase FIFA 20 on the Nintendo Switch if you already own FIFA 19 on Switch.
From my experience playing I find the play quite slow as the players try and turn with the ball and the passing is terrible. It’s a functional game of football, with plenty of official teams, players, stadia and more, but it’s also arguably one of the Switch’s laziest games yet. This game has kept him well entertained on a couple of long trips in the car and spared me hearing the "are we there yet?If you feel shortchanged by the fact that all I’ve done is changed a handful of small elements from the original version, mostly to change the date, then you know exactly how I felt when playing FIFA 20 Legacy Edition. AI Defending: an overhaul in the positioning and tackling system creates an environment for AI to better complement the user controlled player. Yes, FIFA 20 Legacy Edition includes support for Joy-Con in Handheld, Dual, and Single mode, in addition to support for Pro Controller configuration.
I have a feeling that this game was intentionally made to bomb so EA could have an excuse not to support the Switch anymore.
FIFA 20 on Switch is a hard game to recommend because it feels like such a poor version of the beautiful game.
