About this deal

i bought this to read to my beaver colony but obviously had to test run it (after the mistake a few years ago thinking the harry potter fairy tale one would be suitable 🙈). Your words, like your reviews, bring books to life and give them a voice before the front cover is even turned. Great book for parents to read to a Primary school age child, especially if they already know the stories that it’s based on. It’s a fantastic independent book seller that will actually be responsive and select appropriate books for you.

Or perhaps you’d enjoy Jack and the Baked Bean Stalk who awakened from a Trumplestiltskin nightmare to discover a slimy orange plant climbing up to the sky? There is no debate offered by power hungry Trumplestiltskin who condemns the King and his daughter Marla to the tower to spin gold, unless they reveal his real name.

That might be a problem for Mouldysocks, who learns a lesson when his adventures in the Three Bears’ home leads to carnage. If you're worried that your children experience a lack of female role models in the worlds of science, politics, the arts, history, sport and technology, worry no more!Yourself and Bob are much cherished in our booky world and I personally really appreciate everything that you do. Yet things are never what they seem in Fearless Fairy Tales, and Zareen’s encounter with the peashooter could lead to a fierce debate. Or how about Trumplestiltskin, an angry, orange man with ridiculous hair who is obsessed with getting richer and richer?

Payments made using National Book Tokens are processed by National Book Tokens Ltd, and you can read their Terms and Conditions here. And would you like to laugh your socks off at those stories and the clever, colourful pictures that go with them? This ‘ angry little man‘ has turned a near fluorescent orange as a result of his love of colouring and fast foods. Packed with stories about boys who aren't afraid to cry and rhymes about girls who refuse to kiss frogs, FEARLESS FAIRY TALES shakes up dusty, old-fashioned (and, to be honest, rather sexist) bedtime stories and totally reinvents them for the twenty-first century.Whilst my four-year-old enjoyed being read to, I think children aged 8+ (or whenever they're confident readers) will get the most from the book. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

There's Sleeping Brainy , the princess whose only dream is to become Chancellor of the Exchequer, and the Gingerbread Kid , who escapes persecution in his home country but struggles to fit in in his new one. This time she has left the illustrations to Rikin Parekh, who has done an excellent job of matching her style to the prose. Would you like to read classic stories that have something worthwhile to say about the world we live in today? They would also only drop off a case of books and leave us to run it – it was so lovely to have you on hand to chat to the children and recommend them books, as well as the small (but appreciated! The stories are short enough to be read aloud to a class, and older children will no doubt enjoy the play on words and the disrupted versions of well-known fairy tales. I was at my last school for 4 years and we had ********* book fairs every term – and every term, I was disappointed by the narrow range of books. As ever Rikin Parekh’s pictures play up the ridicule, humour and imagination, as we’ve come to enjoy with his illustrations as in This Book Has Alpacas and Bears. There was just the right amount of choice to suit everyone without being overwhelming and I received comments from parents and staff about the quality of books offered compared to previous sales which have always been based around current crazes and well known celebrity authors.
