About this deal

I then applied a little Abaddon Black to the softer joints in the armour, to be picked out in Eshin Grey and Dawnstone later.

You’ll have to remove the hydration foam and paper to use the glass palette inside the plastic tray. Now, with the old piece of paint-covered plastic I had been using prior to this test ( the aforementioned eyebrow-dyeing palette my girlfriend dug out of a drawer months ago), by the time my Space Marines’ primer had dried that the green paint would be rock-hard on the palette and completely unusable. Well, after trying out the Redgrass palette on my last few projects, including the Rotbringer Sorcerer, I have to say, I'm a fan.The wax of the purity seals and the little buttony bits on the armour was done with a Mephiston Red base, a droplet of Agrax Earthshade, and then a careful Evil Sunz Scarlet highlight on the edge. I don't use oils for my minis though, so I ended up using it mostly for a lot of the colors I didn't want to put in the wet palette itself such as metallics, or colors I was going to dry brush. I highly advise using slightly less water than what the instructions say to use, because for the first 2 weeks or so, my paint wound up runny. This helps with getting some of those higher details as it gives your hand somewhere to rest and brace against. The base was covered in Martian Ironcrust, heavily drybrushed with Ryza Rust, and then lightly brushed with Eldar Flesh.

It all started in september 2017, with one of the most successful Crowdfunding campaigns for the hobby: the Everlasting Wet Palette. The larger size of the Everlasting Wet Palette V2 will give you more space than the RGG painter lite version, and less working palette space than, say, the Studio XL version. The Wavy Palette is great for this as it's just off the side of your main palette, so still within easy reach. I've been painting for around a year now I think, I don't have much time to paint but I find it quite relaxing. In my brief time as a hobbyist – and ever briefer career writing for this site – I have seen some truly horrific crimes against palette-use: people using warped old takeaway box lids, others who have used the same palette for decades, have never cleaned them, and have allowed their paints to coalesce into gargantuan, tumour-like growths of rock-hard acrylic.

The TPE rubber gasket around the top lid (red) seal in moisture when you close it securely to the bottom tray (gray). Of course, you can use the glass palette outside the tray entirely, but you won’t have the sealed cover function. Also, is it too much to ask for the paper to fit flush against the edges of the pallette (there is about a 5mm gap the whole way around).I was thinking about the lid and whether it could be of an additional use; we all will wipe excess from our brush before applying paint to our figure, so I set the lid up too, with foam and paper, so that I can remove the excess, this worked really well and also meant I did not pick up any fibres from tissue etc. You can expect us to cover all eras of history, from Barbarian times depicting Celts, Saxons, and Vikings, through to Napoleonic subjects and all the way to WWI and WWII. With a wet palette you just have to find an empty spot to use, and once the whole thing is used up you'll need to toss out that piece of palette paper and get a new one.
