The zipper isn’t seam sealed like you would see on a rain jacket, but if conditions are bad enough to wear these mitts, any precipitation has probably long turned to snow or hail. However, if I wasn’t using electronic shifting, I don’t think the smalls would have enough space for a full shift lever movement. As one can imagine, not being on the shifter and brake levers had its downfalls especially when it came to descents and emergency braking. I have always found that I can bundle up the main body (trunk, legs and arms) and keep it warm on cold rides, but my hands and feet always seem to get chilled.
