What I do miss about the Scuf Vantage are the “sax” buttons, those two additional inputs resting on the upper sides of the controller that you could activate by just squeezing your pointer fingers. It's perfect for sharing the C40 TR with a roommate without worrying they'll change up your painstakingly tuned button mapping. I can say with confidence that the C40 solves nearly every complaint I have with competing devices from Scuf, Razer, and others that have tried their hand at the high-end, “elite” gamepad market. Going into this purchase I knew there would be a few issues with stick drift and some other minor details like stick tension but I still went ahead with the purchase anyway. You can only use the software to remap buttons when the controller is directly connected instead of in wired mode.You have toggles like the wired/wireless switch and the profile 1 or 2 switch, allowing further customisation on the fly. UL and UR allowed me to reload weapons and use action buttons without having to reposition my hands. bucks is a lot of money for a controller, and probably far too much for the average gamer (even ones who dabble in tournament play). I also tweaked the left analog stick to be more sensitive along its entire curve, letting me bob and weave faster with less tilting.

Straight away you can tell Astro means business as soon as you open the box with its serious looking travel case - less to protect the C40 TR and more to protect us from it. Thank you Astro for creating such a magnificent product that I will enjoy for many years (I take really good care of my technological property). Knowing that most controllers start to degrade primarily in the thumbstick department, with rubber flaking off and more serious issues related to drift and dead zones, Astro decided to make custom modules that can be easily swapped around and replaced if necessary. I found this design to make it easier to toggle back and forth when playing fighting games like Mortal Kombat 11. They stand head and shoulder-buttons above the competition, sneering imperiously down at the hordes of lesser gamepads.Pair that with high-quality buttons and triggers that have just the right amount of resistance, and the C40 is a pleasure to hold.
