About this deal

Also Garret’s mental illness, for the most part was dealt with and portrayed well up until it was fully revealed. Only problem is Mia has no idea the man she’s formed a connection with on the app is none other than Garrett and he intends for her to never find out.

Until he stumbles on a cam girl app and finds himself watching the one person he should stay far away from: his step-sister, Mia Harris. I loved the taboo relationship we see, the sexual tension and the slow builds to firecracker climaxes. He is a bit more reticent (as he should be since he's the older one) but it's still very much like a trope checklist, not something that gets dwelled on much. I think that would have helped with the forbidden aspect of their relationship bc it didn’t feel “taboo”.

I really enjoyed seeing an extremely accurate depiction of functional depression with major depression episodes. These two sorts disliked eachother but secretly wanted eachother at first it was Mia who was the first to have w crush and fall head over heels but knew it couldn’t happen so she choose the bratty sassy root making sure those walls were up and we for Garrett he started when he saw her on a cam app.I didn’t think it could be as good as the first in the series, but it somehow lived up to my high expectations. When Garret comes across his stepsister online and realizes she's a cam girl, he knows he should leave. Overall a satisfying read that gave me everything I love from steamy kink to adorably sweet to emotionally riveting.

But I think it just showcases that its perfectly normal and okay that you might not care for one book by an author and you might absolutely love another, even in the same series. the sexual tension is high between the two so is the banter and her keeping her job s secret, add ice and a douche who outs you and mix a step brother who now doesn’t wanna do stuff because your a virgin. I enjoyed the pace of the storyline and I've discovered I quite like the 'know in real life/online and don't necessarily know' theme.I don’t know if it’s because I’m getting older and I’m becoming more comfortable experiencing things outside of my comfort zone and experimenting with things that I was previously closed off to, whether that is in books or in my own personal life.

If you’ve ever read my book Prospects, you know I dig a man, straight or not, taking it in the back door. I wish we had more sprinkled throughout the story and that more conversations about it were included since Garrett fought it for so long. Even Garrett's mom has never understood him and his emotions and that is a very real problem many people with mental health issues face. Most people maybe wouldn’t be tripped up by these inconsistencies, but I have a close family member who has BPD and it kind of felt like they were downplaying how severe this illness truly is.

Because it's real, mental health issues never truly go away and I love seeing Mia help him and acknowledge that everyday isn't sunshine and rainbows but they still love and support each other despite it. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.
