The on-board sounds, while I don't think that they reach the studio-level quality of some other Korg keyboard, are definitely good enough for stage or amateur music production. The D1 features 30 richly expressive sounds, which include a variety of piano sounds that cover genres like jazz, pop, and classical, and also organ, electric piano, as well as clavi sounds that come in handy on stage. There are also sounds like acoustic guitar, strings, and vibraphone. Therefore, the piano offers rich sounds geared for realism and serious electric piano sounds. One thing I wish it would have is a pitch wheel, but I guess they had to save some features for the higher-end models. It does come with a sustain pedal with multiple sensitivities. When compared to the D1, it’s slightly lighter than Korg’s RH3 action, but only by a small margin. I still prefer the RH3 keyboard in terms of realism, but it’s certainly close. Both keyboards are great and feel very similar to a real piano. These are the same keys you get from the top-of-the-line Korg Kronos, Grandstage, and SV-1, all of which cost many times more than the D1.

The Korg D1 digital piano features a real weighted hammer action 3 (RH3) keyboard, which reproduces the touch of a grand piano. The low notes are heavier and the action becomes lighter as you play toward the higher notes.

There aren't many options for a good quality fully weighted piano at this price point. And for that category, this pretty much takes the cake.
