About this deal

Fully adjustable power with push and turn Piezo ignition for convenient and safe match-free lighting The Party Grill® 600 stove is the essential camping companion with endless cooking options! This compact, portable stove Party Grill® 600 offers the wide range of cooking options; stove top, grill, griddle and plancha. First Impressions So, what do you get? Well, it comes in a large box, and a little bit of assembly is required. Watch our video below that shows how to assemble the Party Grill. The children all decided they wanted pizza and dough balls, so pizza and dough balls it was to be!! You can actually buy a Pizza Stone for cooking on but we didn’t do too badly using the grill and the plancha. This gave the pizzas a very crispy base but the children ate the lot which in our book is a huge thumbs up because they will not eat anything if it’s not 100% right. Spaghetti Bolognese

The lid has a handy built-in temperature display which means you could use it as an oven if you’re feeling adventurous, and we’ve even heard of people using a pizza stone on the Party Grill to create their own pizzas when camping. Should I buy one? Well, yes, there is. We've had a brief look at the popular Cadac system before, and now there's an alternative: the Campingaz Party Grill. What you get with the Party Grill It’s not the cheapest, either, but you get what you pay for - and there are smaller options in the form of the Party Grill 200 and 400 if you don’t need the do-it-all capabilities of the 600. If you go the whole hog and opt for the 600, we think you’ll be suitably impressed. It’s really easy to set up, making it a viable tool for weekends away. It’s also incredibly versatile, just as good at barbecuing meat as cooking a fry-up or even cooking meat and two veg. The 600 has all the same features as the 400 (minus the wok lid) but on a much larger scale. The legs are twice the length, which brings the grill to a comfortable standing height. There is also a blue plastic tray that hooks between the legs, making it more sturdy and providing a small table.

Despite the fact we have a caravan with a hob, grill and oven we find that now we are opting to use the Campingaz Party Grill 600 whenever the weather is decent outside. The fully adjustable 4000 W gas stove runs on Campingaz gas cylinders, which are widely available. I can prepare salads and other bits and bobs inside the caravan and husband can cook outside so we don’t get in each other’s way! With the Campingaz Party Grill being so powerful (it can boil the kettle in 3 mins 50 seconds) food is cooked in less time and another added benefit is frying food outside the caravan avoids setting off the fire alarm! If you fancy rustling up some delicious grub on your next camping trip then be sure to read our camping cooking tips. We initially treated it as a barbecue, cooking a selection of ribs, burgers and sausages on its large, circular grill. It’s very good at this - with its Piezo ignition providing easy match-free lighting and instant heat. The grill is huge, meaning there's plenty of room to move food around, allowing you to work out the varying temperature across the cooker. Both grills have temperature control to give you more flexibility whilst cooking, and they also both come with a handy carrier bag. All the cooking components look and feel like good quality - the only thing that lets the Party Grills down are their plastic ignition cases, which looks and feels cheap, and the casing kept opening up slightly. This was especially true on the 400, and the clips that keep the whole thing together kept coming apart as well. This was a worrying flaw that made me distrust how secure the lid was whilst transporting it.

One thing I love about the Party Grill is the piezo ignition, which means you don’t need matches or a lighter to get it started. Every year, no matter how many lighters or matches we take with us, our camping trips always seem to end with all 10-15 of us sharing one lighter - a nightmare! The biggest difference between the two grills is the size and power. The 600 is a lump to carry about, 10.72 kg, but it provides loads of cooking space (52 x 99 cm on the stand) and serious fire power of 4000w. This firepower means less time waiting for the kettle to boil - a 2.5lt full kettle only took eight minutes – but this increased heat also means you will get less burn time from you fuel sources: 9hrs 30mins on R907 and 6 hrs 15mins on R904, compared to the 400’s 12 hrs and 30 min on R904 and 19 hrs and 30 min on R907. Setting it up is easy, although you’ll also need a gas cylinder along with a suitable hose. Campingaz advises using its own cylinders (R907 or R904), but we hooked it up to a standard Butane Calor gas bottle. div>
