About this deal

This is the pasta that people outside of Italy associate with Campbell’s spaghetti Os or Heinz spaghetti hoops! These tiny pasta rings add a delightful texture to soups, making them a popular choice for creating comforting and flavorful dishes. It is a variant of anelli, which is a slightly larger hoop, perhaps most recognisable in places like the UK as tinned 'spaghetti hoops'. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice.

Being a 60's child and having grown up in London, I have to confess that my first experiences with pasta were limited to mum's 'spag bol' (when the pasta was deemed cooked if it stuck to the kitchen tiles when thrown against the wall! Each step, each process draws on both ancient experiences and recent discoveries, as well as on an original interpretation of taste. Since 1860, Pastifico Morelli has been producing many inviting types of pasta with a secret: wheat germ, the company's true mark of distinction. However, in most recipes for anelli, anelletti or anellini the pasta is dried rings of various sizes.

In the event of any safety concerns or for any other information about a product please carefully read any instructions provided on the label or packaging and contact the manufacturer.

In Italy, however, these little rings are used in soups, salads and baked pasta dishes such as this anellini al forno recipe. And some food chemists have commented that this is why physicists should stay out of their way in the kitchen.Anelli is their bigger cousin, and Anelloni is like the calamarata (calamari) cut but has grooved ridges on the inside of the pasta. However, if you make homemade anellini, I’m sure you’ll love the authentic version of this pasta recipe from Abruzzo as much as we do. The patent was important because it meant the fresh pasta could be cut like a quill without crushing it and in different lengths from 3 to 5 centimetres (mezze "half" penne or penne). Once your homemade anellini pasta rings, the tomato and ricotta sauce and the sautéed vegetables are all ready, cook the pasta al dente in boiling salted water.

They are a delicious favourite with young and old and are traditionally baked this way to celebrate the New Year and other holidays in Sicily, from where they originated. Indeed, in 1865, a pasta-maker from San Martino d'Albaro (Genoa), Giovanni Battista Capurro, requested and obtained a patent for a diagonal cutting machine. Make the rings by wrapping thin 'snakes' of dough around your index finger and sealing the ends together.A few that come to mind are silk handkerchief pasta with pesto, pansotti with walnut sauce, fregnacce Abruzzese and stuffed mezze maniche in broth (see links below). Iron 10 mg Imported by Delicatezza 7 Tileyard Road, London, N7 9AH Ingredients Wheat flour, Calcium carbonate, Iron fumarate, Niacin, Riboflavin, Vitamin B6, Thiamine.
