About this deal

All I know is that our biology students recently cut up a few animals to get to know their anatomy a little better. I can't do anything with mice, rats or birds, but I already have an idea. The ideal bottle? Masculine, luxurious and elegant. A square, faceted bottle with clean lines and unique taupe sides in a lacquered matte finish that would highlight the intensity of the fragrance. A bright– yet seductive– orange label. A heavy and decidedly masculine cap with gulloché detail borrowed from the world of watch-making. Anyway, I have everything together now. But wait... where's my incense? I'm sure some philosophy student stole it from me because he thought it was a certain other plant that spiced up his evening discussion podiums. I don't care. I mix the rest together. Notes: Bergamot, spices and almond are in the top; Turkish rose, incense and vanilla are in the heart; and the base consists of sandalwood, leather and tonka. The cherry almond lingers into the middle which is a fascinating part of the fragrance in my opinion. This is where the magic is. Getting the obvious out of the way, there's a hint of Dior Homme Intense, but that's not the comparison that really keeps my interest. What I love is the fact that Guerlain l'Homme Ideal Perfume has a sister perfume: Shalimar Perfume Initial, recently rebranded as l'Initial. There is a heavy dose of Initial's middle notes in this fragrance. And you know which fragrance Shalimar Initial is often compared to? Dior Homme Intense! However I myself see the Guerlain offerings as very unique fragrances that only have a passing similarity to Dior. Further driving interest and masculinity in this middle part is the beautiful incense note which is gently smoky but refined. I would say the incense note was lifted directly from one of Wasser's best fragrances, Tonka Imperiale, but maybe tilted just slightly more smoky here.

Rose as heart note (exception: Much Ado About The Duke from Penhaligon's, I was just in London at the idea)

Presentation and Value For Money

Ahhh ... the almond. Well then we go to the student emergency ration and dig around a little in the student food. Now the top note is perfect. Admittedly, I had difficulty with the flacon at first. However, I’ve grown to love it. The geometric glass is accented by a brown edge. Meanwhile, the cap is made from heavy rubber with a knurled finish and the Guerlain initials at the top.

Did you get all of that? The middle is Shalimar Perfume Initial mixed with cherry almond and incense and it is incredible. All in all this fragrance is really very round, spicy, earthy and sweet. Meanwhile in my Top 5. also the bottle is very beautiful and noble from heavy glass. Finally, the amber heart draws towards some sweet and mouthwatering tonka bean paired with sandalwood and birch tar. Overall, this creates a very gourmand and powdery base with a vanilla hint. Do you all know these more elitist courses? While as a future teacher of German and history I am gnawing at the hungry towel and in case of a student's failure I will only be a taxi driver, there are our law students and business people. I'll go to the latter. Pros & Cons: Although this is an eau de parfum (whereas the original is an eau de toilette, and as such would be expected to have a slightly lower concentration of aromatic materials), many reviewers have found that it isn't exactly longer-lasting. Don't expect a stronger version of the original but rather a composition that builds upon the sweeter almond/cherry facets - less powder and more liqueur. A number of reviewers have also noticed an orange/mandarin note prominent in the opening. On top of that, the text overlays the Be and You, which would actually make a fitting mascot for Bespoke Unit!

As a fragrance that is worn by or attracts men, it is one that does scare off younger gentlemen. Guys in their late teens until their late twenties would have difficulty wearing this. Similarly, older men in their forties find it too unconventional and unfamiliar compared to the Guerlain they know and love. We'd have the top note. A beautiful cherry. Something's missing here, though. What the hell is this? I have there the neighbour of my parents, whose cherry tree is placed so beautifully on the property that it is every time simply only tempting to help itself there. So let's do this. The kids from the neighborhood would be to blame anyway. They get his frustration off, not me.

When To Wear L’Homme Idéal

As a fragrance for attracting women, it seems to be something best suited to those between their late twenties and early thirties. Younger women in their teens and twenties found it to be too mature and musky. With an intense and hot, powdery bouquet, L’Homme Idéal Eau de Parfum is a deeply sensual blend. Comprising of a number of notes and accords from the Oriental family, it comes across as a Woody Oriental Amber thanks to birch tar and sandalwood. Head Notes
