Exploring AAC and becoming an expert in Grid software is now even easier with Smartbox Academy, our new online learning platform. Lessons are enriched with interactive images, video, audio and case studies to support your learning.

Exercises and videos in the platform are useful. This is a very valuable tool for clinicians. – SLPThis is set by Hotjar to identify a new user’s first session. It stores a true/false value, indicating whether this was the first time Hotjar saw this user. It is used by Recording filters to identify new user sessions. I love the look, feel and ease of use as well as the instant certificate at the end of each course! We have combined years of knowledge from AAC specialists across Smartbox to create a range of courses for all levels, from beginner to expert. We have a range of on-demand webinar-style short courses, perfect to complete when you have an hour to spare. These sit alongside more in-depth courses specific to Grid 3 (Windows) and Grid for iPad. Courses are easy to complete on the go – load up Smartbox Academy on a laptop, smartphone or tablet. Symbol communication inGrid 3enables you to use symbols that represent words and phrases for choosing what you want to say. A wide range of ready-made grid sets is available so you can get talking straight away. The touch-friendly editing interface makes creating and personalising resources simple and intuitive.Browse the catalogue to choose the courses that are right for you. More new courses will be added throughout the year. Getting started The Remote Editing feature means that anyone can login and edit grids remotely. This is ideal for adding new content for an AAC user, without needing to take their device away from them. There are seven areas withinGrid 3, that provide different types of content. These include symbol and text communication, interactive learning, accessible apps, computer control, environment control and education. Each area is designed provide a range of resources that can be edited to suit the needs of each individual.Grid 3has been created for everyone and includes resources ranging from simple animated learning activities through to advanced text communication and computer access.

Grid 3’s environment control enables you to control your home. You can do anything from turning on lights, opening your front door or operating your TV - all by simply selecting cells on your grid. Most devices can be supplied to individuals and charities at 0% VAT. This does not apply to standard computer accessories such as mice, keyboards or carry cases.
