I am a massive fan of David Walliams’ books so I went into this book with high hopes. Thankfully it not only lived up to my high expectations, it well and truly surpassed them. I honestly haven’t read a David Walliams book that I haven’t enjoyed but this one is easily my favourite of his short story collections. David Walliams is a literary phenomenon whose books have sold more than 45 million copies worldwide and have been translated into fifty-five languages. David Walliams has done it again with this hilarious collection of short stories. Each of the stories was fresh and entertaining while also being different from each other. As will all of David Walliams’ collections each of these stories contain a message for young readers to learn from while also being laugh-out-loud funny.Marvel at Houdini, the magician’s rabbit... take a trip around the world with Zoom the supersonic tortoise... gasp at the chaos created by Griselda, a grizzly bear with a big secret... and RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! It’s Furp, the monstrous goldfish... Ten pets pestering their owners and everyone else, making a mess in houses that no one cleans up (taken a lot from Dr. Seuss, the latter having done it much better) and creating mayhem. Humour was thin on the ground. There is no plot or narrative to any of the ten stories. It's just mounting horror and chaos. From a reader of children's books, wouldn't recommend.

This is the first book I’ve read that is illustrated by Adam Stower and his work is fabulous. He adds so much personality to the characters with the simplest splashes of colour and the most subtle expressions.Had a good outing last Sunday and ended up completing The World's Worst Pets by David Walliams by the riverside.
