I guess it’s Christmas after all, and there blow-up Candy Cane decorations in the GOTG Holiday Special, but this could pop out of the City or LEGO Friends Advent Calendar, and it wouldn’t be out of place at all. Whether you’re here for the first time, or have been following for years, I’ve really enjoyed reading every single comment, and for yet another successful year! The designs are fairly simplistic, with only the general shape and colours used to clue you into what they actually are. Snowman Thanos– You cannot have the Marvel Cinematic Universe without Thanos and this Advent calendar is no different. There’s a mix of miniature ships including the Milano and Benatar behind some of the doors, and smaller ships referencing other films too.
I am glad that for the Marvel Advent calendar LEGO has gone with changing the themes each year rather than sticking with just Avengers, this can allow for creative design spaces to be explored in subsequent calendars we will see.

The minifigure is the same as the one found in 76913 The Guardians’ Ship, and also comes with a blue (dark azure) Fender Stratocaster-esque electric guitar. Ollivander’s– At the risk of spoilers, this is the first build in the advent calendar, and it is incredibly difficult to build from the tiny image in the door.Guardians of the Galaxy Advent Calendar presents good value in most regions, especially for those who have yet to purchase 76193 The Guardians’ Ship and want to get their hands on many of the minifigures featured here. Not sure if its just me, but the antenna are a little wonky on her hairpiece which is made out of rubbery plastic, which isn’t my favourite material. I love advent calendars that can be used year after year and I think teens can be quite sentimental about bringing out childhood favourites each year. while most of the mini builds are not noteworthy, I appreciate the minifigs that are included with the set. While I appreciate that all five of the girls have different interests, I’m not sad to see the one that’s interested in science and engineering featured in the set!
Like last year, there are only two female minifigures out of six in this year’s City Advent Calendar.But let’s face it – some of these are good enough for us to keep to ourselves not give to the teens, right? There are actually several designs available, but this candle wreathis nice and neat, and comes with 24 festive-scented tea lights.
