The front of the tablet features a 12MP camera as well, which is sat along the top bezel of the device. This does prove a touch annoying when the product is in landscape, as the camera is no longer in the center of the display. It works great when the iPad is in a holder, such as the Magic Keyboard case, on a desk, but the position is fundamentally flawed for other tablet use, and always has been. Inexplicably, Apple moved the camera on the new cheap iPad 10.2 (2022) to work better in landscape, but left it in the same place here. Testing conducted by Apple in September 2022 using pre‑production iPad Pro 12.9‑inch (6th generation) and iPad Pro 12.9‑inch (5th generation) units with pre‑release software. LumaFusion v3.1.2.1780 tested using a 55-second clip with 4K Apple ProRes RAW media, at 4096x2160 resolution and 59.94 frames per second, transcoded to Apple ProRes 422. Performance tests are conducted using specific systems and reflect the approximate performance of iPad Pro. In China mainland, you can use Apple Pay on the web in Safari only on compatible iPhone and iPad models using iOS 11.2 or later. The displays have rounded corners. When measured diagonally as a rectangle, the iPad Pro 12.9‑inch screen is 12.9 inches and the iPad Pro 11‑inch screen is 11 inches. Actual viewable area is less. The Magic Keyboard keyboard is a touch more cramped than a laptop’s, and the iPadOS software isn’t fully integrated in the way it is on a MacBook, but it’s a good alternative if you can only buy one device. Samsung's Ultra-tab is a potent rival to the iPad Pro - it's not quite as powerful but it has a bigger, better-looking screen and a stylus that you don't have to buy separately.So 10 hours, sure – but a lot of the uses people will actually have for an iPad Pro will cause it come in under that, based on my experience. In other area of iPadOS, menu items highlight or enlarge when you hover the Pencil over them – a bit like they do when you move the mouse cursor over them when using the Magic Keyboard. For a few weeks after launch, the iPad was pretty hard to buy due to supply shortages, but that's long cleared up now. The edge-to-edge Liquid Retina display is not only gorgeous and immersive, but also features incredibly advanced technologies. Like ProMotion, True Tone and industry‑leading color accuracy, which make everything feel responsive and look stunning. Quite simply, this combination of features make it the world’s most advanced mobile display. This rear camera is absolutely fine – it’s good quality, delivering solid brightness to the images, pleasing contrast, nice colors, and reasonable detail. However, we are struggling to imagine that anyone thinking about ProRes video wouldn’t rather record it on the larger sensor of the iPhone 14 Pro to get as much image info as possible to work with.

The iPad Pro 2021 12.9-inch isn’t for everyone. The biggest caveats are that it’s incredibly expensive, and that it’s an overwhelmingly large device for those who don’t need a screen this big. A12Z Bionic is designed to be put to work, especially with pro apps. The 8‑core graphics processor delivers fluid performance for things like 4K video editing, 3D design and augmented reality. Enhanced thermal design means higher peak and longer sustained performance — critical for pro workflows. And the Apple‑designed Neural Engine enables on‑device machine learning ready for the next generation of pro apps. These are mostly peripherals such as high-resolution displays, but it also means you can connect to faster external storage devices and other devices for further tasks. There aren't that many differences between Apple's 2020 and 2021 iPad Pro models, outside of the newer tablet's M1 chipset, so if you don't need all that power the older device is a great alternativeIt's an interesting idea, but it's under baked in a few crucial ways at this stage. For a start, it's buggy, and often crashes or causes unexpected effects in apps – this will be a deal-breaker for a lot of pros on its own, assuming the apps you use don't mesh well with it. Time will have to tell to a certain degree, and it depends on your workflow, but I can say that it certainly works as intended.
