I love the characters for what they are. I unabashedly like cute girls and these girls are pretty cute. The cute art only makes everyone more loveable and our MC more handsome. Or not!" tropes in manga, because the character is both annoying and destroying our main heroine's character. The factor that had drawn me in to reading this manga was obviously the art. It is perfectly drawn, not too flashy, and the way how each character is drawn to make them look extremely attractive is so appealing to the eyes. This is why the "It was all a dream" trope is so discouraged. It's anti-climactic. Fat Double-kun did tell the Yuri Brigade that he doesn't wish to get close to Adagaki at all, but how are we to believe he didn't have an ulterior motive when pure-pure Ojou-sama did? That scene did nothing but show that Double-kun bought the trust of completely-irrelevant-except-for-this-arc Yuri Brigade to be reduced to comical henchmen (kendo girl was cute though 8/10). Masamune Makabe is 11 months older than Aki, but he moved at the same degree as her due to his revenge.

Masamune-kun suffers from an interesting phenomenon, something I like to call the "Guilty Crown Effect". At the beginning, we start with a very unique plot with tons of potential, and several different characters with what looks like room for development. However, after a short feeling of general oddness it takes an absolute dive into the abyss.Let’s talk about the concept of Masamune-kun for a moment, and why I was immediately nervous about where the anime would go. Double-kun is complete filler. He has no significance other than to tell us how Adagaki felt about MC in the past, and her relationship with him, which could easily be done without him.

You might be thinking, “Ugh, is this just another typical harem anime?!” Well, to that I say, “Yeah. Overall, I think the series was pretty entertaining. The story kept me in suspense as we watched Masamune kun teeter on the edges of getting caught during his revenge and all of the various plot twists that came up. It was actually a pretty enjoyable series to watch!I’m just baffled at how completely pointless Masamune-kun’s Revenge is. Really, all it needed to do was set up this grand revenge, but instead it insisted on taking this weird detour so that it could evolve the romance. Give me a break. I didn’t want to see that in the first place. Not just because I’m expecting a revenge plot, but also because I don’t like these two characters, and seeing them form a relationship isn’t satisfying. In fact, Adagaki Aki is meant to be unlikable, so why would I want the main character to date her? She’s supposed to be the villain, but then at the last minute they throw in this secret side of her that actually found fat Masamune to be attractive?? What???? All of the sudden the revenge plot is gone, so now she needs to be presented as likable. Ten episodes is a bit too late to change my mind on someone’s personality. A similar anticlimactic development would be if the authors were going to invalidate her whole existence by telling us she was hypnotized by Masamune's dad to like him.
