(2018) conducted a double-blind RCT to compare the efficacy of chlorhexidine, cetylpyridinium, miswak, and neem mouthwash on plaque reduction among 80 patients who underwent orthodontic treatment. Mouthwash formulated with miswak, demonstrated significantly greater plaque reduction effect compared to the two chemical ingredients.
