About this deal

After the riots, fourteen people were sentenced including two young people, Judge Michael Stoke QC praised the police force and the force’s dog, Ritchie. We speak of revolutions against the system and for some, that night in 2012 represented just that, but for others it was just tomorrow’s fish and chips wrapping. While these two real-life events formed the basis of the track, there are a few more references in the song which would easily stump a non-Leeds native. It was originally released as their second single on 1 November 2004 and was the band's first release on the B-Unique label. The song depicts some colorful British characters; "Man in a tracksuit attacks me," "Girls run around with no clothes on, to borrow a pound for a condom, if it wasn't for chip fat, well they'd be frozen.

From the clashing of cultures squeezed into neighbourhoods living parallel lives, with littered pavements and graffiti bins.In anticipation of the activist exhibitions Aftermath Dislocation Principle (ADP), and Fighting Walls + a rebel scene at NAE, Rhiannon Jones considers the 2011 riots and what lead to the social outbreak.

Ricky Wilson of Kaiser Chiefs says "We wrote it purely for Leeds but people in LA, San Francisco, New York and Russia still identify with it". It's probably a good book for first time readers of Bateman as it does not require any previous knowledge of characters. Supermanfriday from Wigan, United KingdomKaiser Chiefs Leeds Utd player was Lucas Radebe but Philomon Masinga came as part of the same deal from another club ,so the band could have been named Mamelodi Sundowns .

This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. I wrote it in my pyjamas sitting at the piano in my mum and dad’s house’ … from left to right, Nick Hodgson, Ricky Wilson and Simon Rix in 2005. The first, made for the original release, was directed by Charlie Paul, and features the band performing in front of a crowded audience, who appear to start a " pillow fight".

This made Leeds both an exciting and frightening place to be on a night out, depending on which side of the fence you were on. I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one.
