The heroine, Ophelia, is a born hunter but has been cast out of the group because as a teenager she drew some pictures that represented her sexual desires towards the shades. With more happening than both of them know, will Allerick and Ophelia find common ground and build a life together? Their relationship was really intense right from the start, they had a nice chemistry and the tension was there. There was definitely part of me that thought we should talk about this, but was I really going to argue with him when he was willing to tongue fuck me into a better mood?

I thought the story could have used more of an emotional connection between the two and less monster politics. She even made the grave sin of committing some X-rated monster thoughts to paper-which in hindsight may not have been the best idea because her parents were mortified-but you live and learn.I didn't like the antagonist(s)' motives, I thought they were lame and stupid villains, and the last five chapters is what considerably dropped the rating for me. Since this is a romance, the focus is mainly on the characters and their relationship, but there’s also an intriguing plot and fascinating world-building! They were so much fun to read and I can't wait to see them again in the following books of this series. Just like Ophelia, Allerick had a tendency to assume things without communicating, keeping his worries to himself, avoiding conversations. I would have liked some more description of the Shade world and their customs because I was left with some questions about a lot of things but I did like that the story focused primarily on Allerick and Ophelia's blossoming romance.

By purchasing the item from Charlies Chapters Ltd you agree that you are happy to receive a revised edition. I will not get the second book because I feel that the second will be based on yet other been there done that story. She’s authentic, blunt and so freakin hilarious(her inner dialogue had me rolling on the floor laughing). In hindsight, it makes sense that their monarchs were choosen by brute strength and not intelligence, cause that boy was stoopid. My only complaint is that I wanted to better understand the councils and have a bit more background on that but maybe that will be explored in other books that have Hunters in them. It just didn’t grip me enough to keep me reading for any length of time but it was interesting enough for me to want to get to the end. If you’ve been drawing other Shades fucking my wife, wearing my crown,'—shit—'then I’m going to have to kill some of my own subjects, Queen Ophelia. The history of the shadow realm was featured enough to be interesting without taking away from the developing relationship between Ophelia and Allerick. VERY curious about the next book - the way the end of this one was set up I'm hoping to see a specific couple take center stage in the next one.

I wonder if any of my colleagues will be monster food tonight, I thought idly, smiling and nodding at whatever they were saying while tracing lines in the condensation on my glass. She’s not the chick in the monster romances that take forever to see the attraction our girl is a PROUD monster fucker 😈 Despite going to the shadow realm she adjusts and wants to conform to their customs.

For me however, I want more story in between, and less detail as it goes on, so for starters, it doesn’t feel so repetitive, and for second, not so ordinary and boring. It just didn't flow with the story as easily as I would have liked it but I clearly didn't care about it too much as I still really enjoyed the book. The beginning of the story was fun and engaging, the middle was a bit slow paced and the ending was rushed and unsubstantial. Luxuria follows Ophelia, a woman trying to get by in the world after being cast out by the hunters, who protect unknowing humans from the shades, monsters who feed on fear.

The writing is fantastic, her imagination vivid, the sex scenes smoking and the wittiness between the characters completely engaging.luckily their POVs were entertaining and endearing enough to distract me from the potential it had to be more than what it is. Yet when Allerick discovers that the scent his wife permeates is in fact lust not fear, well the monster is coming out to play.
