About this deal

Any book by Christopher Edge is usually a treat, blending a great story with something to encourage discussion.

I liked the writing itself, it was an easy read and I found the puzzles and mysteries very engaging. They will allow us to play the role of a secret spy, or become the most famous master of riddles - Sherlock! The Editor at Nosy Crow says: "A new Christopher Edge is always a brilliant thing and this one is no exception. She and a team of other puzzle fans, who she is meeting for the first time, are initially convinced it is just a game.

rounded down, as a character didn't read a newspaper she was offered at the end, and I wanted to know what that person thought about certain things. The characters in the elevator remain dull and underdeveloped; they are nothing more than selfish, overpaid investment bankers, and this made it really hard for me to care about what would happen to any of them. The book was fantastic at first it was hard to read but that is the same as all the books in the world but towards the end it was sooooooo good and especially the last chapter there was a HUGE plot twist that had me blown away! I soon realized just how well-layered and brilliantly written this one was and that ending paid off big time for this reader! With the fine details of how stuffy and dark it is and the feeling of panic building within each person in the elevator as they realize, this just might not be a game.It challenges readers to think about what they’ve done to help the world around around them, while also being the ultimate thrill-ride! Bronnie is so lovely with the boys and we also felt that having a man enthusing about the books set a great example. This book won't win any literary awards and it certainly won't change your life, but if you're looking for an absorbing read with a unique plot featuring despicable people that get their just deserts, then this is the book for you. The coherent storyline made me want to progress so I could find out what happens next and I found that some puzzles or whole chapters worked really well together and were a lot of fun to solve.

Step into the past to discover a thrilling mystery about a sinister plot to shape and control the future, in this spine-tingling historical adventure trilogy. After all, I would be your friend who would politely RSVP “no” if invited to your ESCAPE ROOM party. It has already become a fact, Escape Rooms are a part of the entertainment world, but they play a huge part in the world of books.the novel goes back and forth from the POV of the four members of the team who are trapped in the elevator to Sara Hall who details how everything came to this point. Daarnaast komt het einde best wel als een verrassing en vormt het niet echt een geheel met de rest van het verhaal. I had a feeling where this might be going, but was definitely surprised, and have to admit, while reading it, a bit disappointed by how abruptly, it ended. Today we will not only come across books with gripping stories, telling about the adventures that daredevils have been waiting for, but also those that give us access to knowledge about game construction including rules for Escape Room. This is an intense rollercoaster of a read with an almighty twist towards the end that caught me completely off guard.

In the world of a game, we can take risks, hone our skills, make bold moves and invent winning strategies. As the dark secrets of the team are revealed, viciously pitting the colleagues against one another, they find themselves removed from their normal boardroom backstabbing and thrust into a definitive game of survival.

This story had a lot of promise, and the different rooms really added to the mystery, as well as being really interesting - the chess automaton was a particular favourite of mine as I remember there being one in Hugo Cabret. Christopher Edge is an award-winning children's author whose books have been translated into more than twenty languages.
