About this deal

I bought my first slow cooker back before I can even remember now, after getting fed up with serving up a plate of beige food when I was pushed for time after the kids swimming lessons.

Am planning on doing a chicken casserole this afternoon and was going to use the homepride cook in sauce but wasn't sure if I could use the sauce in the slow cooker, has anyone done this and got a good result? Head over to my highlights on Instagram to see a step by step guide of how I made it and please let me know what you think if you give it a try. Light - Have a job that involves long periods of sitting (office-based / driving) or are home-based and sitting for much of the day. I was only able to try the beef and ale flavour as that was the only one available at my local Tesco.

Spend majority of leisure time doing activities such as watching TV, playing computer games, on the internet, reading, cooking, driving, general household chores. I can never get the combination of spices right and the Homepride sauce gave me a rich sauce with just the right amount of spice. Leftover sauces can be added straight from frozen, to a wide range of dishes, to add some extra flavour. Homepride have an extensive range of cooking sauces, including our famous Creamy Tomato and Herb and Tomato Pasta Bake Sauce and Bacon Pasta Bake Sauce 485g, the All American Sticky Range and Mac and Cheese Range, and the latest addition Homepride's Naturally Simple range, made with 100% Natural Ingredients, just like you'd find in your cooking cupboard. You should also note that the picture images show only our serving suggestions of how to prepare your food - all table accessories and additional items and/or ingredients pictured with the product you are purchasing are not included.

The sauce is easy to use, is thick and has a few nice texture chunks but they're the only positive things I can think to say. We would get in late, they would be ravenous and I just reached for nuggets and chips or pizza as they were the quickest and easiest option. They are easy to use and mean I can have a nice healthy meal pretty much ready for when I come in from work. This sauce isn't overly spicy which is great for bringing out the flavour of the other ingredients in it. For me the sauces are perfect for those times when you are in a real rush as all the flavour is packed into this handy little pouch for you which is so convenient when you are pushed for time…or inspiration. While all Homepride sauces are at their best when used from freshly opened jars or pouches, we also realise the importance to avoid generating food waste, where safe to do so.

I thought at first maybe the spice kick will take a few mouthfuls to kick in, but the more I ate the more bland it was.

Homepride Cook In Chilli Sauce Jar 485g Nice size jar easy instructions how to make and use pleased it was low in Saturates and fat.The pulled pork was the perfect after school meal as it could be piled inside floury baps with a big green salad. Put in slow cooker with pork and beef mince, red onions, pepper and a jar of homepride chilli sauce and it came out so rich and tasty. My narrow minded thoughts of them only being used to cook stews were quashed and over the years the different meals I have prepared have been so vast.
