About this deal

It isn’t just the hardware that’s seen a significant overhaul. The Pixel 6 also comes with Android 12, which brings with it a radically updated look and feel, courtesy of Google’s new “Material You” design language. The Pixel 6 Pro has a 50MP main camera and 12MP ultra-wide camera as well as a 48MP telephoto lens with 4x optical zoom. With the Pixel 6 Pro, Google has finally delivered a flagship-class phone that can compete with the very best in the business in all aspects, not just the camera. The Google Pixel 6 represents quite a departure from recent Pixel phone launches. Not only is it unashamedly premium in its design, but it costs the same amount as the Pixel 5 did at launch, is significantly faster and comes with improved cameras and a revamped UI.

Turn the Pixel 6 Pro around to see its big 6.7-inch OLED screen. It’s a full HD+ Plus display with 1200Hz refresh rate, as well as a high brightness mode. It’s bigger and better than the standard Pixel 6. How good is the Google Pixel 6 Pro camera? I've just received my replacement phone today from Google, because costing them money is the only way they are going to fix this. The ultrawide camera is the weakest of the three. With a 0.7x magnification, it isn’t quite as “ultrawide” as I would like, compared with rivals that have 0.5x magnification and a wider field of view. But it produces really good images that are a little bit softer on detail than the main camera.

One thing to note, Google has partnered with iFixit to help make repairs for the Pixel 6 Pro and older Pixel phones a lot easier. Pixel 6 Pro review: Display

Proximity Sensor, Light Sensor, Gyroscope Sensor, Accelerometer (G-Sensor), Motion Sensor, Magnetometer, Barometer, Fingerprint Sensor Heading indoors to this produce stand, the Pixel’s shot is brighter and compensates better for the harsh lighting above. The iPhone warmed things up a bit too much in response to the cool lighting, and the image is overall dimmer than the Pixel’s. I think Google’s phone wins here. The Pixel 6 Pro’s new ISP brings with it a list of new camera-specific additions. Among them is the Magic Eraser, which allows you to select and remove objects and people from images with the swipe of a finger. This works almost too well, and while you might see some evidence of smoothing if you zoom right into an image, the ability to remove stuff with zero effort without extra image-editing tools is incredibly useful. The Pixel 6 Pro’s low-light capabilities are astonishing. Whereas the iPhone 12 Pro’s night-time shots suffer from an orange tint, the Pixel’s have nothing of the sort: it boosts the brightness without unnaturally tweaking the colours, with very little visual noise. This time around, Google is using its own custom silicon for the first time ever in its own flagship smartphones and the idea behind this decision is to be able to have more control over the optimisation of the performance. Even though it doesn't score better than some other high-end chipsets, It's a powerful chip that certainly delivers plenty of real-life speed and comfort. Moreover, it expectedly supports a 5G cellular connection. Cameras: Best In The BusinessThe camera is awful in dark light. The delay while you hold on the object varies wildly, with no indicator if you're going to get an image or a blur.

The 6 Pro is certainly a very big phone, but its curved glass sides make it easier to grip than some and very similar in size to Samsung’s Galaxy S21 Ultra, just 17g lighter. It feels a well made and premium device ready to compete at the top of the market. Specifications Honestly it's not a great look, and Google should have known better. Pixel 6 Pro review: Software and special features The Pixel 6 Pro is the best phone Google has ever made. Whether that will be enough for it to be a hit remains to be seen. Overall, performance was at least on par with top-flight rivals: responsive, smooth and snappy all round. The camera app crashes all the time, causes the phone to random reboot when you open it or change modes. Forget 3rd party apps the Google apps do not even work on this phone. This includes Photos, Gmail, Drive,Chrome, Maps - the app flashes open then closed again, eventually the phone will do a random reboot again. Chrome wouldn't work at all even after a reboot, the only thing that fixed it was a factory reset (clear cache etc didn't work).

A Successful Lineup

The Pixel 6 Pro is... without a doubt...the worst phone I've ever had. I've had this phone for nearly a year. It's my first, and last time I will ever consider a Google phone. I wish I could give it zero stars. What about raw speeds? In the Geekbench 5 single- and multicore CPU tests, the Pixel 6 Pro scored 1,039 and 2,926 respectively, which brings it roughly in line with Google’s performance improvement claims. It’s not quite a match for the Galaxy S21’s Exynos 2100 processor, however, and the iPhone 13’s A15 Bionic chipset still takes the top spot, but where it counts the Pixel 6 Pro is as speedy as you’d ever need it to be. The Pixel 6 Pro is quite an upgrade. With an improved camera array – including that long-reach 4x telephoto – a more luxurious build, a bigger, better screen and faster performance than its predecessor, it’s nudging into ua-flagship territory and possesses all the necessary credentials to successfully challenge Samsung and Apple’s finests. I've been visiting Tom's for over a decade, was a regular visitor when it was just a forum for techies. I bought this phone to replace my 5 year old S10+, and I wish I'd never done so.

Take big group selfies or see more of your surroundings with the ultrawide 94° field-of-view front camera.

The haptics or vibrations that recreate a sense of touch for buttons and other interactions are really sharp and good compared with most Android competitors.
