About this deal

I don´t have to much to say about this pedal but, that´s a compressor pedal that does this function very well. Andertons Music Company is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, firm registration number 716155.

While it packs a lot into such a small box, for those needing much greater control you may need to look at another model. The compressor is really acting more as a limiter to stop the unwanted spikes in volume that sometime jump out of an electrified guitar set-up and it has the added benefit of giving a whole lot more sustain.I’m not looking for crazy ambient textures or wild sub-divided repeats, I just want a little subtle delay to thicken my sound and open it out a bit and the Carbon Copy does that perfectly. The Dyna Comp has been my fav compressor, even with all the advances that have been added over the years.

Made since the 1970s, the MXR Dyna Comp, which adds its own coloring to the tone, has become a frequently copied and widely used guitar effect, even a standard. He is a 40-year music industry veteran who started at Boardwalk Entertainment (Joan Jett, Night Ranger) and Roland US before becoming a guitar journalist in 1991. This approach certainly works to maintain most of what I love about the character of my drive pedals but I feel like having the compressor later in the chain robs me of a bit of my signal’s higher frequencies. Additionally make sure your User-Agent is not empty and is something unique and descriptive and try again.

Also, the pedal adds quite a noticeable amount of "white noise" to the signal, although I believe the same applies to rival models. The run at the end seemed unchanged other than a slight sweetness that the pedal seemed to add to the tone itself. This pedal can be powered by a Dunlop ECB003 9-volt adapter, or the DC Brick™, Iso-Brick™, and Mini Iso-Brick™ power supplies (not included).

I have mixed feelings about compressors, at some points they’ve been integral to my rig and at other times I’ve totally rejected them. The answer, crank up the tone control on the compressor and I’m pretty much back to where I was without it. The MXR Dyna Comp wasn’t the first compressor pedal on the market – the Maestro SS-1 Sustainer and Electro-Harmonix Black Finger preceded it by a few years – but it was certainly the first to be embraced by a wide variety of professional players who helped it become a standard, essential item in many guitarists’ rigs for nearly five decades. One of the most popular compressors of all time, the Dyna Comp is the secret weapon on many stars' pedalboards.

Designed to provide live performers with a low-cost alternative to the expensive and bulky rack-mount compressors used in the studio, the Dyna Comp can provide a smooth, professional polish to one’s sound, but it also can deliver special effects with their own distinctive “squashed” sonic fingerprint. We will be using a Gibson Les Paul Studio through a Victory Countess V30 MKII with the Dyna Comp running through the front of the amp.
