Follow up with a thin highlight of Temple Guard Blue . On the tongue, this is the chunky highlight. Stippling here looks quite effective.When it comes to Warhammer, you’ll most often find tentacles on models related to Nurgle, whether in Age of Sigmar or Warhammer 40,000, though Tyranids frequently sport them as well.
I painted the off-yellow skin in slightly different ways on my Barbgaunts, Psychophage, and Von Ryan’s Leapers – employing various combos of Plaguebearer Flesh and thinned-down Nazdreg Yellow over a Wraithbone base, with highlights ranging from Dorn Yellow to Flayed One Flesh – but they all still look like closely-related beasties. I’ve got yet another approach in mind for my Termagants… There isn’t a ton to painting tentacles – we’re going to cover a few different shades of pink and purple in the tutorials below – but there are some interesting techniques to consider when it comes to shading and finishing them. Glaze a highlight with the most appropriate colour. EG: on the dark legs, Emperor's Children . On the upper, mix Wraithbone into the Emperor's Children to build up highlights. Use almost pure Wraithbone on the face.
