Pretty good, if anything I'd say they are sometimes too much protection and sound levels can be hard to distinguish at lower volumes, but if playing live on stage with a good on stage mix then are perfect.The Alpines are great for protection but the sound is not great, very low mid heavy, they tend to leave around the 150-400Hz range relatively untouched which makes for a very "woolly", "honky" undefined sound that masks all detail for guitars and vocals. They get to work filtering sound and reducing noise, but not entirely and so are ideal if you are concerned about missing your alarm or being able to have some level of hearing.
