About this deal

Should you buy? - Only if you’re in the rabbit hole already. Otherwise, try something less tactile first Even though I request you to verify your existing keyboards compatibility if it will support it or not because some keyboards don’t allow full customization. Both in terms of tactile bump strength as well as tactile bump size, the Novelkeys Cream Tactiles are noticeably more tactile than the Zealios V1 Redux switches. In addition to the bump being longer throughout the stroke, as well, it also starts a lot earlier in the downstroke in the Cream Tactiles than in the Zealios.

If you need a quieter and tactile switch, then the Zilents v2 would be your choice. These switches are a bit on the premium side. Spring is no longer pingy like before (a big problem of old Zealio imho) and the overall sound changed. It's a really good smooth sound. Zilent– The 65g Zilent are Smooth, long, drawn-out tactile bumps from the top. They have a nice cushioning during bottom out which feels great during typing and gaming. Even though the housing collisions are fairly balanced in both of these switches, the Cream Tactiles overall feel a bit thinner and less firm at topping out and bottoming out than the Zealios V1 Redux switches. TTC Blueish White Performance is the significant factor for any switch to become successful in the mechanical keyboard market.

Apple please watch this.

UPKB take: while Zealios used to be the top of the hill, they are hard to recommend for the price nowdays. If you are familiar with and enjoy the pretravel in their tactility - there is little that duplicates that, so these may be a great option for you - but expect some housing chatter on even the snuggest plates, and some leaf noise (even lubed). While they are not as bad as Zilents... they are still below our personal recommendation to use. Let us know if you need help selecting an alternative. Very close in tactility but Zv2 is bigger. The holy panda seems to have a more rounded bump. Much more similar to lubed Zv2. However, holy pandas seem to have a deeper more muted sound. These are pretty tactile and beat out switches like Koalas, T1s, Browns, Clears, and others in tactility, but these are far from the most tactile out there. TACTILITY: The new more rounded and bigger bump on the stem and different inclination on the leaf makes the tactility a really strong point on this switch. The switch is very tactile and the tactile event is VERY LONG and ROUNDED, across the whole travel.

Please note that PCB-mounted switches can still be used in many plate-mounted keyboards. As long as your PCB underneath has 2 extra holes next to the center post, it will support PCB Mounted switches and add extra rigidity to your build. If your PCB does not have the extra holes, then you can simply cut the small plastic legs off to make them Plate-Mount! Zealio V2 switches come in 4 variants. They are rated at "bottom out" force, not actuation! Version 2 of our switches feature a bigger tactile bump when compared to our previous Zealios. The Tealios V2 are a boutique linear switch offered by ZealPC which features a 67g spring, Gateron-made housing, and a smooth, linear stem in Tiffany & Co. blue, no I'm not joking, the pantone for the stem is inspired by Tiffany & Co, and it's adorable. It sets itself apart from color from Zeal's popular purple Zealios, Hermes orange Healios, and pink Sakurios and Rosélios switches.

Zealio - For those that prefer a slightly lighter MX Clear, but want a bigger and smoother bump than MX Clears / Holy Pandas. The tactile bump is round and snappy at the very top. From beginning to end, the spring is heavier than all other Zealio variants. Purple Zealios modified with heavier springs for use in the space bar or enter positions are called Deep Purples. Having used many boards with tactile switches, i was always a bit upset with Zeal even tho i was using his switches. Very often i judged hardly Zeal and his products, and this time i have to say, i was totally wrong. Anyways, the goal of this review is to give a reasonable view of the Zealio R2 and tell the community if you should or should not take out that second mortgage to get a coin pouch worth of switches. To do this, I do have to disclose some certain biases: While slightly stronger and perhaps a tad less scratchier, the housing collisions in the Kiwis are pretty similar to that of the Zealios V1 Reduxes. Bonus Round

The sound dampeners on the Zilents do an excellent job at canceling out any audible sounds you might hear from the tactile bump without adding any mushiness. I compared them to a bunch of switches I had on hand on my mill-max tada68 pcb in a tofu65 case. The zealios v2's were compared to: zealio v1 67g, zealio v1 78g, outemu sky v 2.2, box royals, and box browns (not in pics). My other boards are BKE light topre boards, 55g topre, 45g topre, i'm a big fan of tactile boards and am always excited to try out new switches. All Zeal switches come as PCB mount, but can easily be made to work with plate mount setups by simply clipping the 2 extra plastic mounting legs. The remaining components of the Holy pandas are used to create another switch known as the Unholy Pandas. Build qualityWhere the box royals are super sharp without much of a bump and crash down, these zealio v2's have a larger rounder feel, but still drop off pretty hard. Lube em. They’re similar to unlubed, but with the weakness of the spring grind gone and some added B U T T E R
