About this deal

He may be known as The Villain, but he’s a product of his neglectful upbringing, his familial pressures and his drive for control. When Emilia begins dating one of his closest friends, Vicious steps it up a notch. He is outraged at the defiance of Emilia and Dean, used to being in control of everyone and everything around him. Emilia is essentially ran out of town by Vicious and doesn't see him again until their paths cross again a decade later.

And Auntie Tilda, wilting inside her hospital bed, her breath rattling in her empty lungs like a penny. You think I slept with Georgia? I didn’t touch her. I tried. Trust me, I did. But she wasn’t you. And I know you don’t expect me to give you answers, but I’m going to do it anyway because there’s a small part of me that thinks that maybe, just maybe, you’ll give me a chance afterward.”

He scooped me in his arms with frightening ease, walking across the room, and dumping me onto the bed. I was stark naked, save for a skin-colored thong. In the words of Joe Exotic, I am never going to recover from this. Cillian holding my hair while he is making me puke.

For those of you that love a good enemies to lovers story, this book is pure gold. Vicious is the best kind of asshole. He and Emilia meet when they’re teenagers and they have a… complicated relationship. Just turn your face up, you silly goose. The sky will always be ours. That’s where we’ll meet, between the sunrays and the clouds.” And a special Thanks to Carvanz for my second buddy read of 2017. It's nice to find someone who sees things the way you do....oh and who can read at my speed.LORD THIS CHEMISTRY. The push and pull, all of the love hate angst and emotional tension. It is visceral - and it is HOT. But the emotional dynamics are what make this book addictive. Haters gonna hate- but these two are perfectly matched. They each inspire each other in the just right way- Persy chiseling away at Cillian’s psyche bit by bit to humanize him, Cillian, unexpectedly but beautifully, helps her find belonging, a place for her exuberant love to dwell. And I love how intimate this story is- we have some great secondary characters (including some favs), but we really immerse ourselves in these two- I could not be more enamoured by them. If a person has money, good looks and was hurt in the past, he/she has a right to bully and degrade the others? To ruin their lives? Kill’s father is obsessed with having an heir to pass on the family money to. So he straight up tells Kill if he doesn’t get a wife and son, fast, the company and family wealth will be gone as far as he’s concerned. Oh, how I loved a tortured hero who’s soul finally finds a mate in the most unlikely of heroines, and boy do we find a tortured soul in Cillian.

There were a variety of reasons I was so drunk, and I would point all of them out if I were able to hold a steady finger in the air.

Persephone and Cillian knew each other since 4 years since they ran in the same circles with their common friends and during that course Persephone developed a small crush on Cillian, but never once, he paid any attention to her, made her feel as if she was invisible and pushed her away. But, something happens in due course of time that puts Persephone in a tight situation and she has no choice but to seek help from Cillian. In LJ Shen’s The Villain, Kill’s character is pretty unlikeable unless you’re trying to see him from Persephone’s love goggles. Unlike a regular anti-hero, he just didn’t really do anything good in the entire book that would make for a redeeming quality. https://karensingermd.com/ But he was still there to help Persephone when she needed it, so that’s something at least.

Her indifference to my power somewhat disarmed me. Most people felt helpless around me. Emilia Leblanc never had. Years later, Vicious and Emilia meet again. They both need something from each other. To acquire it, they will have to spend lots of time together. What happens when they are forced to face each other and the root of their feelings after all of these years?
