About this deal

My main gripe comes with its watery consistency and often poor opacity, especially over colours. But with a little patience (and a coat of white vinyl matt), this paint is one of the most reliable paints on the market.

Unlike most other paints on our list, Dulux has the advantage of providing a lovely soft sheen finish that doesn’t need to be painted over once set. The cool neutral range of colours means you can choose any colour from White Mist to Slate Grey, leaving your bathroom with a modern chic look. So what can you use this paint on? Pretty much anywhere! I’ve used this stuff personally on bathrooms, kitchens, en suites and even pool houses. It’s incredible at dealing with high moisture areas. Now we’ve covered the best waterproof paints you can buy, let’s take a little bit of a deeper dive into what you should look for when buying waterproof paint. Purpose and Location Whilst we went for Ronseal’s anti mould paint as our number one choice for DIYers, all the paints/additives we’ve included will do a good job at inhibiting mould growth.Using this paint can be considered as ‘cellar tanking’ and is especially useful and indeed imperative if you want to make cellars or basement living areas.

Damp seal paint generally contains a strong water-reactive component designed to combat moisture. This durable paint works well in buildings prone to damp problems but just slapping it onto your walls and ceilings won’t be enough to solve all damp issues. If you’re suffering from mould, mildew or condensation issues in your cellar or garage, a good quality waterproof paint for concrete will go a long way. And for this occasion, we would highly recommend Zinsser Watertite. If cleaning alone hasn’t worked and the mould has stained, follow the steps above to eliminate damp and mould before repainting. Damp seal paint often comes in white (or maybe magnolia), but if that doesn’t suit your room you will probably want to paint over it – that’s fine! Once your damp seal is dry you can choose any colour you wish, you can even wallpaper over it if you like! Does Damp Seal Paint Stop Mould?Soluble in the following materials: cold water and hot water. Very slightly soluble in the following materials: methanol and acetone. There’s no point slapping on damp seal paint and expecting it to solve all your troubles! Damp seal may stop damp from damaging your decor but you still need to identify the root cause of the problem. If you have a serious issue, such as rising damp, simply washing down walls and repainting won’t put everything right. Potential Sheen: If you’re looking for a flatter finish, the sheen might disappoint in light-critical situations.

Zinsser Perma-White Interior Matt Paint–is ideal for areas where a low sheen finish is desired. As a durable paint with a long lasting protection against mildew and mould, this matt finish will be ideal for basements and kitchens. Although it serves as an excellent barrier against mould, the application can be a bit challenging.Redecorate. Are you painting or papering over the top of your damp seal paint? If so now’s the time to get out your regular paint or pretty-patterned wallpaper and get decorating! Zinsser B-I-N Primer is the ultimate shellac-based emulsion, acting as a primer, sealer and stain killer for interior surfaces and for spot primer exterior surfaces. B-I-N Primer has excellent adhesion, and stays put on all kinds of surfaces including glossy sufaces, glass, tiles, upvc etc, without the need for sanding!
