About this deal

First, this study tested whether academic passion could effectively predict academic engagement. Thus, it not only effectively promoted the development of the broaden-and-build theory in the field of education, but also expanded the scope of research on the factors affecting academic engagement. This study revealed the positive effects of academic passion from the perspective of positive psychology, and answered the theoretical questions “Is there a positive relationship between academic passion and academic engagement?” and “How does academic passion affect academic engagement?” This result is consistent with an earlier study that suggested a positive relationship between academic passion and engagement ( Enwereuzor et al., 2016). Therefore, these findings suggest that students with academic passion can realize the value and significance of learning ( Lin et al., 2019), thus they will invest more positive emotions, efforts, and concentration into learning. This suggests that students will have a higher level of academic engagement if they have a strong academic passion for learning. The stimulation of academic passion mainly depends on the students' love for learning itself, or the students' recognition of the external effects that learning can obtain ( Vallerand et al., 2007). Therefore, teachers should be aware that learning itself and external motivation are key factors in fostering academic passion ( Stoeber et al., 2011). Consequently, teachers can create a series of designs based on the following principles: the curriculum design needs to be rich and interesting, learning tasks must be challenging and innovative, the learning atmosphere must be autonomous, and the learning results must be rewarded. By incorporating these, teachers will be able to enhance students' academic passion and academic engagement. The focus on teaching and doing work that wasn’t relevant to me changed my thinking about who I was as a learner. I learned to play the game of school and “do” school so I could get “through” school. Connect students’ passions to real-world scenarios. While students are preparing for their class-wide robotics competition, show them videos of engineering projects from universities and institutes across the world. Emphasize the real-life significance of machines that are built to help people, whether in life-threatening medical situations or in the kitchen at home. Support self-regulation: Help children develop self-regulation skills, such as goal-setting, planning, and self-monitoring, to help them become more effective learners and increase their motivation and love of learning. http://www.opencolleges.edu.au/informed/features/how-to-ignite-passion-in-your-students-8-ways-educators-can-foster-passion-based-learning/

Two moments from my time as a primary teacher often come to mind when I think about children’s aspirations. I highly recommend that you read Pernille Ripp’s book “Passionate Learners.” Pernille, a 7th grade Language Arts teacher at Oregon Middle School, Oregon, Wisconsin, being met. She then listened to their answers and tried to develop pathways writes her story about how she had almost quit teaching because she didn’t like the teacher she had become. She started by asking her learners which need they have that are not that may include their requested modifications. Duolingo, a popular language-learning app, has had forums with a dedicated following for the past decade. Users can ask questions and give answers to help other users. In this way, it is instrumental to the learning process. Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young.”The vast majority of people in the world strive to life a life of happiness. Cultivating and exercising an innate sense of curiosity is one of the best ways to experience happiness. You may be wondering, “How is this possible?” Curiosity creates an openness to new experiences, which lays the foundation for greater opportunities to experience joy and fulfillment in life. Research has shown curiosity to be associated with higher levels of positive emotions, lower levels of anxiety, more satisfaction with life, and greater psychological wellbeing.

Or, if that SMART goal is already too much. You can just assign a flat amount of time every day to try to learn something new. The point of choosing a flat amount of time is that you will at least be trying to put yourself in the learning mindset for a certain amount of time each day. It’s also incredibly simple. Eventually, once you have built up the habit of sitting and trying to learn something new, you can start to structure your time and specify how you spend your time on a deeper level. Tip 2: Choose something you like All of these things show, in many ways, a candidate’s passion for learning without being asked the direct question. Candidates that have a natural curiosity towards continuous learning will also stand out.” Professional and personal developmentWhen you live from a place of passionate curiosity, you plant the seed for unleashing the power of your imagination. Some of the great minds, like Einstein and Edison, let their minds wander on purpose. It was their passionate curiosities that allowed them to unleash their potential towards the discovery of some of the most amazing inventions the world has ever seen. Einstein said it best – “The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing.” Igniting a student’s passion for learning starts with having a passionate instructor. That means teaching with a sense of purpose and enthusiasm that helps shape how students think about the course. Let your engagement and passion with the course be infectious and translate it into practical actions: The purpose of learning is growth, and our minds, unlike our bodies, can continue growing as we continue to live.” The raw data supporting the conclusions of this article will be made available by the authors, without undue reservation. Author Contributions When students are passionately engaged in their learning – when they are mesmerized by their learning environment or activities – there are myriad responses in their brains making connections and building schema that simply would not occur without that passion or emotion.
