About this deal

The title track was recorded by Roy Orbison in 1963 and was eventually released on Nelson's first Christmas record more than a decade later. It's Christmas Let's Be Glad" is a wry, shambling toast: "Let's be glad/Even if the year's been bad/There are presents to be had/A promotion for your dad. A Charlie Brown Christmas has been a holiday classic for over half a century, and audiences keep tuning in year after year to enjoy watching a pack of kids celebrate Christmas with nary an adult in sight.

The grandparent of all left-field Christmas albums, featuring Ze Records’ post-punk/post-disco roster: it’s variously funky (August Darnell’s fabulous Christmas on Riverside Drive), blackly comic (Cristina’s Things Fall Apart) and unsettling (Suicide’s Hey Lord). Bought this about 20 years ago and listened to it every Christmas until I lost it in a move last year.which was a success, spending four weeks at number one on the UK Compilation Chart and ending up as the third biggest selling compilation of the year. The album is a nearly flawless reminder that we are each allowed to celebrate whatever and however we please. As on Stardust, his brilliant 1975 album of classic covers, Nelson’s laidback readings and gentle guitar work make for refined yet comfy renditions. But on every song, Elvis ingeniously adds a suggestive thrust to a lilywhite genre while slightly purifying his own bad-boy image by showing he could warm your hearth as well as roast your chestnuts. Seven decades later, his vocal style remains the template for elegant ease and stately sentimentality.

From gangsta rap to jazz to reggae to indie-pop, from crooners to rockers, the impulse to knock out a “Blue Christmas” or a “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town” knows no boundaries. Either way, the Brooklyn indie-pop songster's five-EP set is one of the more imaginative revisionist Christmas records. a compilation released in May 2000 of songs from current and famous TV adverts which was released just days after the "100 Greatest TV Ads" poll from Channel 4 and The Sunday Times aired on the former. His takes on the classics are pretty and lovably dog-eared (see his banjo-fied "Amazing Grace") and his originals add wrinkles to the canon. The track, an ultra-funky saga of a harassed drug dealer’s Christmas Day, is undoubtedly the highlight, but TLC’s All I Want for Christmas and Toni Braxton’s classy take on The Christmas Song run it surprisingly close.Usually the album's title is made of the main title, genre and maybe issue number (so albums would include The Best Ibiza Album in the World. But, of course, the best tracks are solo Crosby, pouring vocal butter on "Silver Bells" or "I'll Be Home for Christmas," and making them unforgettably his own.

This album may not be something that excites most people’s cheer, but it’s not a tradition I plan on letting go in a hurry. Hilariously, they choose only the most Jesus-y tunes to bash out in their vaunted flat-lined power-pop style. James Brown made three Christmas albums, but the last one earns its place here by dint of being the weirdest. In 2004, a 1-disc edited version of the first volume was released to unknown ventures with different artwork.A 42-track compilation that charts Stevens’ progress from shambolic folk-rocker to baroque pop mastermind. Many 7" Vinyl Singles are sold in generic card or paper sleeves and not in the picture sleeves which are shown - these will be described as 'Generic' or 'Not Graded' in the condition descriptions above.

Of course, this song is loved, too, for its association with possibly the best Christmas film in the world, The Snowman (another Christmas staple), but it’s also a stand-alone winner. Blur, who appeared on some of the albums in the series, were originally going to title their 2000 compilation Blur: The Best of as Best Blur Album in the World Ever. which expresses weary optimism regarding the festive season: “It’s a fact of life whether you like it or not – so put your hands together and give it a shot. The country star’s first Christmas album is just fantastic: hushed carols, an ample helping of sass (To Heck With Ole Santa Claus, I Won’t Decorate Your Christmas Tree) and, best of all, unadulterated tears-in-the-tinsel misery on Gift of the Blues and Christmas Without Daddy. While the album's songs are brilliant, there are a few stand-out hits and rituals which accompany them, such as Mike Oldfield’s ‘In Dulci Jubilo'. Llegó Navidad might not feel like a traditional Christmas album to those who are used to the stylings of Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra, but the veteran Los Angeles rock band Los Lobos were intent on releasing something special when they recorded their 2019 Christmas record, proving there's plenty of room for new Christmas music in the world.
