About this deal

VERY forgiving on thin strikes. Couldn’t believe how a near-top still traveled to nearly the front edge in the air and still went as far as the M1 did on a good strike Visual first impressions: The M1 7-iron is visually appealing to me as far as the finish and overall look. Even though it is classified as a player’s iron, it doesn’t seem so tiny that it would be tough to hit. I am not a huge fan of the bright-yellow badging, but I probably could get over it. The iron inspires confidence with its topline and a little bit of offset. The “rubber” piece on the hosel is a little bit funky to me.

Sean2: I wanted to talk a bit more about this because I was so surprised the first time I hit one on the sweet spot. I was on the range warming up (I usually start out chipping and pitching until I get loose), and I grabbed the nine iron, took a full swing, hit it well, and oh my. The shot felt very similar to a forged iron. I then took the 7 iron. Same thing. I wanted to see if this was for real and head out to the course.

4I Performance

Pros: Incredible feel all the way through the bag. These irons offer considerable forgiveness on mishits, and their slightly stronger lofts generate plenty of distance for a better-player forged iron. The progressively shaped design combined with the smaller, compact smaller irons feature TaylorMade’s Multi-Functional Sole and the Sand Wedge featured the new ATV sole. The heavy tungsten weight on the sole of the club has been specifically placed to make it easier to launch the ball into the air. I know this accounts for the distance gain but the ball definitely comes off hot compared to my set. I was hoping I would hit the M1 better since I like the appearance better, but that was not the case. The M2 definitely felt better for me and I felt more confident with it in my hands. So the other big thing- distance. I was hitting burner 2 my 7-iron 150-- the Bladez--165-170 (have hit it close to 190 on occasion when i catch it right). although may be do to the stronger lies on RB's-- but I cant do that with mu Burner 2 6 iron-- so somethig else may be contributing. I am a regular PRO V1 user but I found TP5 to be more in comparison to V1 than V1X. Instead, I rather would like to compare V1X to TP3.

The whole set has be painstakingly constructed so you do not find any distance gaps throughout the set. This allows the irons to be more playable to help you optimise performance on the course. They both really launch it, high and far. Ridiculous for 7 irons. I don’t have access to a launch monitor, but it was about a 20-yard difference between my gamer 7 iron and these (stronger lofts, as well). It also means less weight and the combination of a light head, shaft and grip makes this is a light club at under 300 grams. The lie is also down a degree and a half and combined with the shorter shaft length you feel much more comofrtable over the ball. In 1979 TaylorMade broke ground on one club. A 12 degree stainless steel metalwood. They wasted no time breaking into the iron space. 1980 marked their first ever iron release. For the Data section, I tested each ball on a launch monitor. With each club, I hit until I had 10 “good” hits with each ball. The 10 good shots were averaged and the results for each ball were compared. Across the three balls, launch angle and ball speed were found to be quite consistent, so the focus of this section will be spin. As ever, I don’t suggest that my findings are definitive, but simply a starting point for you to figure out which ball might be best for your game. Driver Performance TaylorMade have used their famous and unique Inverted Cone clubface technology to increase the area of the clubface that gives you higher ball speed and gives you more distance on off-centre strikes.

Ball flight/Distance: If you are looking for low ballflight, look elsewhere. Despite the strong lofts I hit these irons fairly high which is kind of what I expected to do with the added offset on the heads compared to my gamers. Now my gamers are shafted with KBS C-Tapers and I noticed probably about ½ club distance gain over my older S400 shafted irons. These RBZ’s are right there distance wise with my gamers, so I can safely say they are ½ club longer then irons I had been using last year. As Taylormade says “Our longer is longer” might be a little something to that. ( Ballflight with my DGS400 shafted 4I really improved, lower and penetrating vs the original shaft. Distance was still very comparable to my gamers which is good. With the Steelfiber in the 7iron, ballflight was only slightly higher then my gamer 7I with C-taper and distance was equal. I was hitting into a 15mph headwind and there was no sign of ballooning. )

Pat Perez among 5 pros out of contract and in danger of losing LIV Golf status

The face is slightly deeper and bigger than the Burner 2.0, which aids forgiveness. Shots from the bottom of the face fly noticeably further than previous models. While Honma has traditionally been associated with extremely high-end clubs — even gold-plated at times— the Tour World line is priced similarly with other forged irons from domestic manufacturers. Tour World also happens to be the line played by their tour pros like Hideto Tanihara, who has the TW737-Vs in his bag. My expectation going into launch monitor testing was that I’d see a flatter trajectory, lower peak height, similar distance and spin, and a decent amount of help on mishits. I tested the TW737-Vs on SkyTrak against my TaylorMade RSi 2’s using Bridgestone Tour B330 balls. I rotated clubs every 5 shots and went through multiple rounds with each club.

He told me there were a set of slotted Walter Hagan irons that came out around the same time that were actually better looking and in his opinion performed a little better. In his words, “The Reflex irons were crap! They helped kill Wilson!” I wasn’t going to argue with him because I was only 8 when they came out, so don’t sue me Wilson. I’m only passing on what a Korean War vet told me. TaylorMade is one of a few manufacturers that regularly releases new and improved options for all types of golfers. From 2008 until present, you can rely on TaylorMade to release a new iron set every year.Ball flight is very strong (comes off hot). Ball stays high in the air for awhile. Very high and lands soft Again I have to remind everyone reading this that I am a forged iron player, but if I was not I would definitely give these irons a whirl. I actually really enjoy playing the 6-AW and the AW has really grown on me and was a good to club for a variety of shots because of its playability. I tried these with a high end graphite shaft because honestly I am not getting any younger but still have a 6I swingspeed in the 90s when I need it. I have not talked about the shaft until now, because I feel they were not a great fit me and we be swapping a few with something I’m more used to and maybe my opinion will adjust some. However I didn’t want to make this about the shafts and I still feel the iron heads are exceptionally well designed.
