In terms of sound quality, the SoundPEATS Free2 earphones don’t exactly have the best sound quality, they have an acceptable amount of stereo effect and a powerful dynamic range for all types of music with excellent treble, mid-tones, and bass. Equipped with 6mm dynamic drivers that give you surprisingly clean sound with little to no noise when the ultra-low frequencies let you know where each singer was positioned, the intensity of their voice, and instrument discrimination was good and everything felt very balanced. So the Free2 Classic was great in that regard. The Free2 Classic earbuds come with a compact charging case with a light indicator to let you know the battery life of the case and earbuds. Note: the earbuds don’t have a light to indicate its battery levels. You must rely on the case for the earbud’s battery life. A flashing blue light means the charging case is charging. A solid blue light means the charging case is fully charged. If you get a red light, it means you must charge the earbuds and case. So, are you looking for a cheap pair of earphones still worth the cash? Well, read on, and I’ll let you know if the SoundPEATS Free2 classic fits the bill! Bassy, v-shape signature, with just enough vocal clarity for me to not mind too much. No peaky treble. Big bass bloat. Great for commute and not much else.

Furthermore, the Free2 classic still had enough refinement to make audiophile recordings like Macy Gray’s “Stripped” sound good, providing decent soundstage and separation between the instrumental and vocal parts, along with good detail and air for the price point. Wireless earbuds are commonplace now, largely thanks to the introduction of the Apple Air Pods (their last actually good innovation?), and I’ve had the pleasure of testing a few sets out over the past couple of years. Once the buds are fully charged and you remove them from the case you will notice each bud has a small LED that will flash red and blue until you connect the buds to your smartphone. With the case lid open, press and hold the charging case button for 10 seconds until the white light flashes 3 times, reset completely. In my mind, the charging port alone is worth a couple of bonus points to be honest. Good work SoundPEATS, the Free2 Classic is a notch above the rest in this regard. Like all good earbuds, Mini Pro comes with touch controls. For the Mini Pro earbuds, you must either hold an earbud for a few seconds or just tap it a couple of times. For instance, to activate ANC mode, just touch the left earbud for 1.5 seconds and you will put the earbuds into normal mode the same way. Here is the list of touch controls for the Mini Pro: The mic isn't good enough for you to survive a conversation while on a noisy bus or in the city BUT do just fine on a walk. Mini Pro earbuds also come with dust proof microphones and 7 Hours of single playtime on an initial charge. The earbuds are charged using the supplied USB-C cable. It will take you about 1.5 hours to full charge the Mini Pro earbuds which you will do using the charging case. Timbre: Kato > Free 2 Classic (Kato sounds more correct with vocals by a country mile, but is arguably worse for hip hop as subbass rumble is less)On the other hand, SoundPEATS made their name selling highly affordable wired earphones and headsets that sound good for the price, so I wonder if they can bring that magic over to the Bluetooth side. In testing these earbuds, we found the sound quality to be good. We got a good full sound out of the earbuds in all modes. We prefer the ANC mode over the others. There were no issues with pairing the earbuds and the battery life was good. We listen to music a few hours a day and the battery lasted over a month on the initial charge. Besides the touch control, there is a magnetic charging connector and with a total of four microphones, 2 for each bud, which is responsible for reducing ambient noise for good and clear sound reception during calls and to accurately distinguish between human voice and noise.
