I used a 1” ball mount to attach mine to my Honda CB750 Hornet’s handlebar clamp bolts, via an Ultimate Addons ball adapter and an extender arm. Ultimately, vibration damage seems to depend very much on the model of phone and the bike’s engine. Those few I know of who’ve had problems – using any mounting system– have all been using older generation iPhones, and have had them repaired under the Apple warranty. The standard Wireless Charging Head is for indoor use such as in your car or desk. Will the Weatherproof Wireless Charger drain my battery while I'm parked? At the time I didn’t notice an on/off button just underneath the lip of the wireless head. Pressing this will shut the unit off and make sure it can’t drain your bike battery. However, you must remember to press this again when you next want to use the charger head.

With fast adaptive charging of up to 36 watts, your iPhone or Samsung Galaxy will stay charged for longer.If this happens, remove your phone from the charger and allow it to cool before continuing to charge. If possible, positioning the phone/charger near an A/C vent can help keep the phone and charger cool.

As with the existing Desk Mount, the reusable nano-suction adhesive base means the Wireless Charging Pad stays in place, making it easy to remove your device with just one hand. Once the mount is attached to the bike, removing the lever mechanism allows fitment of the wireless charging head, which you then wire up to the bike’s battery so it can charge your phone.

There are several differences between bother of these charing heads. The weatherproof version of the charger is designed for outdoor use on motorcycles as it needs to withstand vibration, impacts, UV, and be resistant to chemicals (petrol, oil etc) which requires more durable materials and a very robust design. I never tested the charger from 0 percent phone charge, but it took less than an hour to charge my Samsung S10+ from 65 to 100 percent. If you wire it via a SAE connector directly into your battery, the device will draw a very slight current when not in use (unless using our 12V to USB Smart Adaptor in Auto mode of course, in which case the device will shut off when the battery drops to 12.5V)
