About this deal

Either use piping bags with round tips (one small, one larger for the white), or do like I've done above and use plastic baggies.

Caramel syrup: I used normal ice cream caramel syrup, but you can use whatever type of caramel sauce you might have on hand. Egg white – I like to use pasteurized because it is easy and one is not left with a lot of egg yolks. But you can use fresh eggs and divide them into yolks and whites. Your eyeballs will come in handy when doing tons of Halloween/monster treats. Decorate a brownie, or cupcake with these little eyes and your kids will have a blast!

These brownies are indeed covered in gravestones. But even so, they’re almost too cute to be spooky. Start out by whisking together the sugar, starch, water and extracts (if using). Mix together into a smooth icing. To make, take a mini marshmallow, cut in half, and dot each half with your edible marker pen. That's it, instant edible eyes!

Halloween Bark (Chocolate Boo Bark) - Princess Pinky Girl Halloween Bark (Chocolate Boo Bark) - Princess Pinky Girl

You can use the same recipe to make edible eyebrows, lips, or other fun cake ornaments that you can use to decorate your Halloween cakes. Ingredient notesReese’s: Substitute Reese’s Pieces instead to skip the need to chop up the cups. This can be especially helpful if you have an issue with melty Reese’s cups and don’t have time to cool or freeze them to make them easier to chop. Vanilla or Almond Extract (optional)– These are simply optional flavours to make the eyes taste a little more interesting. Frozen Yoghurt Eyeballs - Halloween desserts don't have to be full of sugar - these gory edible eyeballs are made from frozen natural yoghurt and raisins. You can buy candy eyes in several stores to decorate your cakes, but you can actually easily make them yourself.

By the time you use all of your white, the first ones will be dry enough for you to start to put on your “pupil”. Just put the tiniest dot onto each ‘eyeball’. Place some in the center and then offset some for variation. They are supposed to be googley afterall! I am of the belief that that if you want to do one simple thing to make food fun and to make the recipient smile, that one thing is to add eyes. Eyes in unexpected places are funny, they just are! At this time of year eyes or eyeballs can also add a creepy element to Halloween food. Over the last few weeks I have posted several new edible eyeball ideas here on the Eats Amazing blog - as I said before, I started brainstorming and couldn't stop! In today's post I'm going to gather them all up in one place, and add a few final eye themed food ideas for good measure. It only takes minutes to make this easy Halloween dessert –no baking or fancy equipment required. I like to decorate my bark with candies that are colorful and have different flavors and textures. And I especially love that I can feed a large group of costumed kids by using my leftover candy. Scary never tasted so sweet! Why We Love This Halloween Bark Recipe I’m not sure that I’ll ever outgrow my love of it. In terms of sheer fun and festivities, it’s a hard holiday to beat. While almond bark may be a little easier to work with because it’s designed for melting, I believe the taste of chocolate chips to be better than almond bark, especially for this recipe.
