About this deal

The long connection between the Royal Navy and rum can be traced back to 1655 and Vice-Admiral William Penn's expedition to the West Indies.

With a base alcohol made from Beet it's flavoured with the well known Woodworm along with 8 other herbs and spices. This allows the more delicate herbal flavours and aromas to emerge, such as fennel, coriander and hyssop, as well as the strong spicy undertones of anise. Powerful and rich with deep liquorice flavour, Star Anise is used sparingly as it is easy to overpower the more subtle herbs.

The nose is neat and powerful, with a distinctly herbal profile opening up reveal iconic anise, with notes of fennel, coriander and hyssop. Perfect Serve – Traditional French absinthe has always been enjoyed by slowly adding four to six parts iced water through a sugar cube on an absinthe spoon.

Since July 2013 La Fee Parisienne has been made with 100% natural ingredients including 45% grand wormwood, a much higher proportion than before. It is the only absinthe authenticated by Marie-Claude Delahaye, founder and curator of the absinthe museum.Based on a 19th Century recipe, La Fée Parisiennie Absinthe is strong and powerful, with a distinctly herbal profile of iconic anis, finished by notes of fennel, coriander and hyssop. Traditional absinthe became a thing of the past and was replaced by Pastis (a reformed version of absinthe omitting the vital ingredient, wormwood). It’s high volume, at almost 70%, so should only be sipped by the most courageous absinthe connoisseurs.

Distilled in Paris based on a 19th Century recipe containing wormwood, La Fée Parisienne is a classic Absinthe Supérieure, distilled using 100% natural ingredients, in collaboration with Marie-Claude Delahaye, founder and curator of the French Absinthe Museum. This involves mascerating the botanicals in the base spirit which imparts a natural green colour to the finished product and is identical to the techniques used in the 1800's.But if prepared in the correct way with ice cold water dripped over a sugar cube set over a glass of absinthe (spoon comes with the absinthe) it's quite delightful. Newly refined La Fee Parisienne - Absinthe Superieure - using 100% natural ingredients, in collaboration with Marie-Claude Delahaye, founder and curator of the French Absinthe Museum.
