About this deal

For movies, I do believe its lack of bass is its downfall as it can make scenes sound drier than in other sources due to lack of presence of bass. I also chose these songs because they're on Spotify, so if you have a premium subscription you should be able to find them easily and check them out for yourself in decent quality.

Bass- DEEP and TIGHT, I do recommend you eq a little sub bass into the Dt 880 to enjoy Dub Step, as it helps bring a little more aggression and fun into the bass.

The Sennheiser sound warmer, but also muddier, while the Beyerdynamic have a brighter but also harsher sound. In the mean time, the integrity of the all frequency range is well maintained which results highly realistic and vivid embodiments of sonic sources. Over all an incredibly balanced and airy sound, filled with many details and excellent 2D and 3D sound stage.

Its mostly built out of steel, the only plastic parts on this headphone would be the housing around the earcups, and the hinges above the arms connected to the ear cups.

I didn't find much issue here, ,but those who like their treble well rounded (rolled) off will probably not be to happy here.

The 32 Ω version is the most sensitive, however with the lowest impedance, will be more likely to excite slightly more measured distortion. I prefer the HD650, but often listen to the DT880 to enjoy the enhanced sound clarity (more treble, less lower midrange/higher bass compared to the HD650). Beware of the many expensive but wimpy headphone amplifiers with no more than 2 V RMS output, which isn't much more than the 1 V RMS output of an iPod. My one regret with the DT880 is that the mids are not a little more to the front of the spectrum, and I would love to see them a little warmer. The Valhalla powered all headphones without a hitch, I am just nitpicking here to rank them in hopes this will be informative. It's a great balance of transparency and detail in the treble, with a more forward mid-range for added warmth. Since the spectral differences are all very broad and devoid of peaks, listening for extended periods our ears compensate, and the DT 880 sounds absolutely awesome.
