I’ll post it packed in a well-padded recyclable dvd mailer/box, by 2nd class Royal Mail/Airmail, usually within 1 day. Made in 1989 for Thames Television, this features the voice of David Jason as the BFG, plus many other well-known tv stars such as; Amanda Root, Angela Thorne, Ballard Berkeley, Michael Knowles, Don Henderson, Mollie Sugden and Frank Thornton. Please presume that any reference to a digital copy/UV copy will not be applicable, as these are used items.

The film follows Sophie (Ruby Barnhill) as she is whisked away from her orphanage by the BFG and taken to Giant Country where she is immediately at risk of being eaten by the other, larger giants, including Fleshlumpeater (Jemaine Clement) and Bloodbottler (Bill Hader). The best aspect was the wonderful voice work of David Jason, one of the most talented British actors alive today.

Together, Sophie and the BFG go on an adventure to Dream Country where they capture dreams for the BFG to give to all of the human world's sleeping children.

The child-eating giants like the Fleshlumpeater and the Bloodbottler were very well done, and I also really liked the music.

The BFG rescues her before they awake and begin scouring the land, convinced there is a human present. Steven Spielberg directs this adaptation of Roald Dahl's novel starring Mark Rylance as the Big Friendly Giant. I have two criticisms of this movie, one is that the animation sometimes is a little flat, and the second is that Sophie and the Queen while well voiced by Amanda Root and Angela Thorne are more interesting in the book(which I loved as a kid).

The version of the film which aired on ITV and was released on VHS, DVD and Blu-ray omits a scene that takes place after Sophie and The BFG leave Dream Country, but before they get to his Dream Cave. They approach the other giant's domain again, and Sophie is somehow separated and placed in peril when she accidentally sits upon a giant dragonfly that flies off and drops her among the sleeping giants, who begin to stir from her scent.
