About this deal

The extremely popular and iconic Christmas film ‘ The Polar Express’ was released in 2004 and became available to buy on DVD in November 2005. My eldest son, Leo was born December 2005 and it has been his all-time favourite Christmas film since he was three years old. Each passenger will receive a silver sleigh bell as a gift from Father Christmas who you will meet during the train ride. However each venue has created an immerse Christmas experience which fits well with the Polar Express tale and we’re sure that all will provide wonderful festive memories for the whole family. Perhaps a Polar Express Train Ride will become an annual tradition for you and yours (maybe it is already?!)! There will be singing and dancing chefs and you will be encouraged to recount your own Christmas memories.

As the show continues everything goes deadly silent and you hear a bellow from the coach as Santa Claus enters. During this time, we were chatting with the Chefs, who were very engaging as they entertained the children until Santa Claus come past to deliver the first present of Christmas, the Jingle Bell. The Polar Express – Leo with his Sleigh bell The Polar Express steam train departs from Spa Valley Railway on a magical journey to the North Pole. The whole experience is very similar to all of the other Polar Express train rides with singing and dancing Polar Express characters. Firstly, everyone wears Christmas pyjamas on The Polar Express (Including adults) but wear sensible warm shoes. There are many Christmas steam train experiences in the UK but the most well known of all of them are the Polar Express train rides.Common Sense Mediasuggests 6+ for The Polar Express movie. And we would concur – both my boys were a little scared the first time they watched the movie. So if your children are worried about some of the more exhilarating parts of the story’s journey or characters they might meet, then waiting until they are that little bit older might help. (You could always enjoy a traditional Santa Train Ride in the meantime.)

While you are waiting some of the performers (the chefs) come out and start interacting with the children in the hall. This was a lot of fun as they entertain and get the kids excited about what’s to come. Then, the show starts – the performance is great starting with the singing of the classic “When Christmas comes to town”, sung really well. As the story progresses, with laughs and interacting, getting the kids shouting, we are then met by the conductor. The Polar Express show The Polar Express- ALL ABOARD! If you happen to be visiting the US this year, we also have a complete guide to the US Polar Express train rides– there are 34 of them!

Where is the Polar Express Train Ride UK?

The Polar Express train rides are perfect for families with children of all ages. Everyone will be entertained. Children aged 4+ will probably get the most out of the experience. Do I have to watch the Polar Express film to enjoy the experience? With nothing except the pyjamas he’s wearing, the boy travels north on the train along with a host of other children. Upon arrival in the North Pole, they join the throngs of Christmas elves waiting to cheer Santa on his way. When the young boy is selected by Santa to receive the first gift of Christmas, he chooses a bell from one of the reindeer’s harnesses – a very special bell that only makes a sound for those that truly believe. When you arrive in the ‘North Pole’, you meet Santa who gifts a silver sleigh bell (just like the Polar Express bell in the movie) to all kids on the nice list! Location: Wealden Railway Co. Ltd, West Station, Nevill Terrace, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent, TN2 5QY. Duration: The train journey lasts about one hour, but it is recommended to allow 2 – 2.5 hours for the whole experience.
